When I decided to take the GMAT, I had no idea what to expect. I work full-time and I knew that studying for this exam would be challenging and require a lot of effort. I needed a prep service that would force me to consistently study throughout the week. As a result, I decided to sign up for the Veritas Prep full course.
Mark Robinson, the instructor, was very helpful and kept the class focused. There are way too many tips and tricks you would not learn from simply reading the textbooks. Mark's teaching style enables his students to stay motivated and see these GMAT problems in a new perspective. He wants his students to think like a CEO, a mentality that will carry on past this course and into business school. To be honest, I found the experience in class to be way more helpful than reading the material on my own.
The structure of this course enabled me to really understand core concepts and solidify them through the homework assignments. The practice tests were also crucial in helping me with the GMAT. It enabled me to get the timing down for each section as well as review my weaknesses.
I took the GMAT in early March and ended up scoring a 700. As an engineer, I knew my weakness would be the verbal section. To my surprise, I ended up scoring in the 90th percentile in the verbal section. I honestly believe I would not have been able to achieve this score without Mark's help. I highly recommend this course to anyone preparing for this exam.

Most people preparing for the GMAT are so busy with their full time job that it is challenging to find a course that can adapt to their busy schedule. Also, truthfully speaking, taking some online course really does not help much because it is hard to focus staring at a computer screen after one has been in front of the computer all day long for work.
I wasted my time and money on books and online courses, but finally took Veritas, which I really enjoyed. The instructor was great and it is nice to sit in a classroom environment with other students who are going through the same process as you. So, save your time and money and go for VERITAS!

A little preface, I took Manhattan self study a few years ago and sat for the GMAT. I scored in the low 600's.
After contemplating business school, I decided the best chance of my acceptance was to retake the GMAT. After reading numerous reviews online, I decided Veritas Prep was the best choice, especially since they had a money-back guarantee if I didnt beat my previous live GMAT score. The VP materials were excellent and thorough, I think each section clearly broke down the GMAT subjects and strategies needed to master the test. For me personally, an in-person class was very helpful to grasp concepts not easily understood. Our instructor was very good at relating the material to practical business applications( ie: sentence correction errors to real life lawsuits where companies lost millions on the use of the wrong verb conjugation) and had great personal examples (catch phrases, stories, etc.) that allowed me to easily remember material when sitting down and taking the test. My biggest complaints were the classroom and pace of the course. The classroom was small, had tiny tables, was in a mediocre hotel, and constantly smelled of burned plastic. The pace of each night of class was very inconsistent. Often times we would go slow at first, then speed through the end sections(more difficult problems) and not finish each book. We were so slow that we had to add an extra night just to finish all the material, granted it turned out to be a nice review session of all the subjects. Don't think if you go to class, you'll ace the test. Outside of the classroom hours, be prepared to dedicate each weekend to 1 practice test and homework (8 hours at least).

Mark is very influential in driving his students to succeed both on the GMAT and in life. Mark is quick to identify hurdles in students lives that will limit their success and helps them plan ways to overcome them to get to the next level. I really like Mark because he is 'to the point' and doesn't waste time, but also respects the growth process and the spiritual and family side of life.

As a teacher Mark holds the classes attention very well and helps expand our understanding of how the GMAT tests our knowledge by linking the teachings to work-life examples. Marks use of language and buzz words really helps drive home the lessons to make sure you remember what you learn. I can still remember his catch-phrases and advice for the GMAT even after taking the test because of his presentation skills and connection with the students.

My verbal jumped 7 points to break the 40 point barrier. I solely attribute this to Mark's teachings and explanation that pattern recognition and quantitative skills are extremely useful in the verbal section if you learn how to use them. I am an engineer by training and was able to learn how to use my quantitative skills to beat the GMAT verbal section.

A friend of mine recommended the Veritas Prep course. At the beginning of the course, the instructor (Mark Alan Robinson) said the average increased score was 130 points. He focused on the most important topics of the GMAT and showed that he wanted each student to get the best possible score on the test so we could get into our business schools of choice. He even offered a bonus class outside of the core curriculum to field any questions, free of charge. After completing the course, I was extremely pleased with my score (increased 140 points!). I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to master the GMAT and if you’re in the Houston area, choose Mark Alan Robinson.

I took the In-Class Course with Mark Robinson from May-June 2015. Mark was an excellent instructor and taught me to think outside the box. He was always readily available and eager to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend his class to anyone in the future. I am not a math-savvy personal and he taught me how anything can be turned into a math problem, which thus helped me simplify difficult gmat questions. There were times where I got overwhelmed with some of the tricks but Mark was happy to stay afterward to help me understand them better. I finished the course feeling very confident about the test. Much more confident than I felt prior to the course.

If you’re reading this review right now, you might be in a similar spot to where I was in April 2015. After 6 years of working professionally, I finally decided to take the plunge and try to get into B-school. I was overwhelmed, anxious, and quite frankly, a little terrified. I researched many GMAT prep courses and felt like Veritas Prep was the best fit for me – and it definitely did not disappoint! The material was tough and it did require you hold yourself accountable by doing homework outside of class. But while we were in class, our instructor (Mark Robinson) was awesome! Mark has a way of keeping you engaged after a long day at work and the 6 weeks seemed to fly by. I saw continuous improvement in my score week over week and by the end of the class it was up ~150 points. I also did 6 hours of private tutoring with Mark, which were extremely effective. I’m proud to say that I was accepted into the Rice MBA Professional program (Class of 2017) and it starts next week. The overwhelmed, anxious, and terrified feeling is rearing its head again – but it seemed to pay off last time!

Mark Robinson was a great GMAT prep instructor. He took his time to make sure all his students' questions were answered and everyone knew what they were doing. He truly cared about the success of his students, and he cared about everyone in general. He gave unique insight into the GMAT, revealing information that you would only get while enrolled in a course like Veritas. The course gave me a lot more confidence about the GMAT than I had going in. The way in which the course is taught really makes the whole process of taking the GMAT easier. If anyone takes the course in Houston they will really learn a lot from Mark.

Mark was a very good teacher and knew what he was talking about, even though sometimes he talked up his own political views a little too much. Raised my score over 100 points. Homework didn't seem forced and helped quite a bit. Gave very good tricks for both the quant and verbal section. I'd say the course was worth the money even if it seems steep at first. $1000 is nothing if you can get into the MBA program of your choosing. If the class that I took, Houston Full Course, is in any way indicative of the way other Veritas Prep classes go I would highly recommend it over any other test prep program out there.

when i first signed up for the veritas GMAT prep course, i felt slightly apprehensive. This was mot likely due to the fact that fpr the majority of my academic career I rarely relied on tutoring to accomplish my goals. Even when i did meet with tutors, I usually met with them privately, rather than in a group setting.

however, my worries were quickly put to rest when I met Mark. He moved the class along at a steady pace, but still managed to give me the attention i required. This is why I have recommended at least 3 people to take his class with Veritas (and i've heard similar positive feedback from them
