I went with a personal tutor over a class because I knew I had specific strengths and weaknesses, and a class would be less helpful for me than a tutor in targeting those weaknesses. David was an overall great tutor. He was patient and friendly, and he took the time in the beginning to understand me, my background, and my goals for the GMAT and beyond. He was quick to then move right into carefully selected practice problems that targeted my key weaknesses (mainly Math). These problems were challenging, but David was right there to guide me through a problem or provide a much needed hint. The overall process (as suggested by David) was a combination of practice problems with David, practice at home with the official GMAT guide, and two practice exams made up of real retired GMAT questions. This process allowed me to quickly and efficiently improve my scores and my comfort with the GMAT. After only 3 weeks and 12 total hours with David, I went from barely cracking open a GMAT book to achieving a score that was even better than what I had originally hoped for. Thanks David!

Ravi was an excellent instructor this course is worth the money. If you follow Veritas Preps lesson plan then there is no way your score won't improve. The main take away I got from Ravi is to "Dumb it Down" keeping things simple and if it looks like its too much work and I'm doing to much work than I'm probably missing the point. the point of the gmat is to work smart not hard. These lessons break down the fundamentals showing you what the question is asking, why they're being asked and how to answer the correct questions while understanding why the other answer choices are wrong.

Chris Kane is wicked smart, super responsive to everyone's comments in the chat, and has the odd ability to know what we're thinking when we make mistakes in class. Don't think you can sit through a three-hour session and just breeze by - a stickler for accuracy and precision, he won't let any of our assumptions slide if they're not 100% bulletproof. Veritas is expensive, but Chris and Brandon (the TA) and others' participation in class made it worth it!

Prior to taking his class, I scored a 530 on my very first Veritas practice test. Immediately after taking the class, I scored 630 on practice tests. Concerned, I reached out to Chris, and he made himself available for coffee, where he gave me specific instructions and created a personalized study plan for me to break the 700 barrier. What also really helped during this time was being able to send any questions I had to the Veritas customer service email and get answers from Karishma and other Veritas instructors within 24 hours. Two and a half months later, I was able to score a 720 on the official exam. Could not have done this without Chris and Veritas. Thanks so much!

This review is for: Veritas Prep On-Demand
Location: Online

I have taken the On-Demand Course. I must say it is most comprehensive service out there. Apart from the online Video lessons you would receive a set of 12 books.

Each lessons contains the set of homework problems. The homework problems can be accessed in the books or in the online platform. The Books only contains the OA. We can download the OE(PDF Copies) if we want. The online homework problems can be done sets or lesson-wise under each sections.

The teaching methodology is quite different from other test prep companies. Brian, the Veritas Prep instructor tells the student to learn by doing. And the Veritas Prep pyramid way of approaching the problems. First stuff the course teaches you to understand the skill required via skillbuilders. And then teaches us to learn by doing via skills meet strategy and finally helps us to think like a test maker to reach 700+ Score.

All the books emphasis on learning by doing. It definitely helped me when i was getting plateaued.

The 12 Mocks which comes with purchase is little too much since most students will have the 2 free GMATPREP and 2 exam pack. This takes to 16 tests!!. I would do all the GMATPREP since it's from the testmaker and 3 or 4 from Veritas Prep. The most important thing, i noticed is that the Veritas Prep score were in range to the GMATPREP score. And as many says Veritas Prep test are close to the GMATPREP.

The Advance Verbal Strategies just tells us to think like a test maker when we encounter a difficult verbal problem to get those correct and get above 700+ Score.

Overall, the course was really good and the student service for any queries were excellent- Mostly i got reply within 36 hours.

Ravi was a fantastic teacher. He was engaged throughout the 6 week course and made every effort to answer each question. Ravi knows his strategies very well and his explanations were easy to understand. I was a bit skeptical about taking an online course, but Ravi was very receptive and engaging. There is also an additional instructor in the class to answer questions. My worry was that questions would not get answered due to the scale of the class, but that was not a issue at all! Ravi would message people individually when we saw it fit. Highly recommend him and Veritas!

This review is for: Veritas Prep Full Course
Taught by: Mark Porath

I took the Full Veritas Gmat Course with Mark Porath in Los Angeles between Feb and July 2015. I strongly recommend this course because it is well divided into sections according to Gmat and allows you to refresh and review quant and verbal skills. Mark was a really good teacher and he explained the quant and verbal sections in some easy ways that anyone can get right the question in the proper time. I loved the way he explains rates… I always get those problems right!!
Mark was paying attention to our progress and he was very compromised to help us get a high score.

I took the Gmat 2 months ago but unfortunately my score was not enough for the business school that I want. Veritas has a very good retake policy so I decided to retake the online Gmat class with Ravi Sreerama (Veritas Prep). I strongly recommend this course and of course Ravi. The course helped me a lot to remember some topics and improve my skills. Ravi was really clear with explanations. What I liked most about Ravi is that he not only explained the content but also gave us some tricks to do quant problems faster.

I do not know my score yet as I am planning to take the Gmat in a moth, however, I am pretty confident that I will improve my score.

Taught by: Chester Rodeheaver

I took an online GMAT course a while back with Veritas Prep and had a pretty good teacher at the time (he was VERY GOOD when it came to data sufficiency). Sadly, when I took my actual GMAT about two months later, mys core suffered severely. Luckily, Veritas is one of those companies that allows you to take the course again if you need to. Instead of doing the course online, I decided to do it in person (hopefully to try something new and get different results.)

I didn't expect much of a difference coming in but was I surprised! Chester helped to show me a couple of the mistakes that I was making by the second class and he truly helped me out as far as understanding what question I needed to answer and steps that I needed to take in order to get there. Chester was an awesome instructor who went out of his way to send us helpful material outside of class and make himself available if needed.

I would 1000% recommend taking Chester if you want good strategies as far as passing the GMAT and understanding the tricks that the GMAT uses on you to throw you off.

Ravi was the man. He knew his stuff cold and made sure that each of his students did as well. He wouldn't sugar coat anything if you did something wrong but would make sure to point out mistakes so you can learn from this. His teaching style, especially in the quant section, was extremely helpful for me. Would HIGHLY recommend taking one of his classes for GMAT prep. The live online is definitely the way to go if you can't attend in person as I used the on-demand course previously and regretted it big time. Veritas was kind enough to take that into consideration when pricing my live online course. Tl;dr - Take the live online course with Ravi!

I have been out of college for several years, and Veritas Prep gave me the foundation I needed to ace the GMAT. It was a very well-structured course, with plenty of reinforcement to make sure we reach the highest levels of understanding of the material. Their philosophy resonated with me, and I found myself enjoying this super fast-paced, highly time-intensive course. The best part of the whole process, of course, was Ravi Sreerama. Words dont do justice to how awesome he was. If you're on the fence, I'd say go for Ravi's course and you will not regret it. It is an expensive course, no doubts about that, and it is not for everyone. If you can afford it, you get high-quality instruction from top-notch instructors, high-quality course materials (better than MGMAT books IMO), excellent practice tests (better than MGMAT, more representative of the real thing), topped off by great customer service. Highly recommended!
