I thought the Veritas Course was great. But of course, it is hard to tell since I dont know if maybe another course would have been more helpful (such as the manhattan).
All I can say is that the teacher I had is fantastic, really smart, and that in a month and a half I practically learned all math all over again (I hadn't seen math since high school and was reaaally rusty).. Now I actually feel OK with it.

The course is also good as it is structured as a class and you get lessons for every topic.

I would recommend it, but then again, I don't really know if it is better than other prep courses.. Hope this helped, please ask more questions if you have any!

My verbal skills weren't that great in high school (I scored 630 on the SAT Verbal), but I did think they improved through college. Despite this, I signed up for a weekend intensive course through Veritas.

The reasoning for Veritas was twofold: The timing was best, and they offered a verbal-only course.

Anyway, because of the course, I had access to 8 practice tests. I didn't study anything else (until the course). I just took practice tests. I wanted to get the timing right. I actually would take the same test multiple times to make sure that concepts sunk in. Being that the test is adaptive, when you retake it and change a wrong answer (the first go-round) to a correct answer this time, you get new questions afterwards. I'd keep track of my scores the first time I took each practice test, but I would retake each test until I had a 790, and then I'd move on.

This process continued for 2 weeks. Note, I didn't study at all on the weekends (course time excluded), I thought my 40 hour weeks of studying was enough.

The weekend course was really an all day thing both Saturday and Sunday. I had my test the Thursday immediately following the course.

That Monday I wrote practice essays for the first time. I didn't think there was any need beforehand, and the course gave what was a surefire way to score a 6 on the AWA, so I just needed to make sure the timing worked. For the rest of the week, I just took practice tests during work. My scores were improving and I was consistently 730+ with verbal scores being anywhere from 38 to 49.

I joined Veritas Prep's online GMAT course in Dec 2012 and I think that this is one of the most useful course for people who would like to score higher on the GMAT. those who have given the GMAT before will see increase in their score after this course.

I took my GMAT before this course and my score wasn't what I expected. But now on the practice test, I feel I can do better in my next attempt. Non-native people will find the verbal help very useful. Veritas have their own 'strategies' which will be explained in the course and the books they will provide.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is thinking of taking a training course for their GMAT.

The online feature gives the advantage of not driving to a class location and and even if you miss one, you can watch the recorded video of the missed class. The software used for this class in also easy and powerful.

Most people preparing for the GMAT are so busy with their full time job that it is challenging to find a course that can adapt to their busy schedule. Also, truthfully speaking, taking some online course really does not help much because it is hard to focus staring at a computer screen after one has been in front of the computer all day long for work.
I wasted my time and money on books and online courses, but finally took Veritas, which I really enjoyed. The instructor was great and it is nice to sit in a classroom environment with other students who are going through the same process as you. So, save your time and money and go for VERITAS!

I can't say enough good things about Veritas Prep ... and especially Kevin. He took an individualized approach to each lesson once he had gotten to know each student's strengths and weaknesses. He gave me specific study advice on breaks and before/after class that really helped me. Overall, the course is very thorough--the books are great, the OnDemand sessions that accompany each book are infinitely helpful for those of us who don't always "get it" in the course of one evening, and the fact that you can call for help with any of the problems and even retake the course if you need to makes Veritas Prep a stand-out GMAT prep course in my opinion!

I took the live online class and i couldn't recommend it more. Whats nice about the online class is all the lessons are recorded live so you can always access the live lessons after the class to retake and refresh the concepts learned. I've never taken an online class and was a little uncertain if I'd like it but it was great and I couldnt recommend it more

GMAT Prep Helps, But You Have To Put In Due Diligence For Results

i really liked that they offer a free course retake, which i counted on and ended up doing. you can choose to do your retake as a full course (like i did) or for people with less time, do the intensive weekend crash course (a popular choice). veritas offers the most in-class hours and practice exams than any other prep company (17). be aware that the practice exams they offer aren’t all theirs–2 of them are the free ones you can get directly from the gmac; 5 are from 800score, which you can also purchase from them; and only the remaining 10 are veritas…that’s still a lot though.

they also have a ton of great resources like diagnostic tests, online lectures (helpful if you miss a class), etc…and i personally think they have some of the better looking materials/branding (not that that’s important to your score in the least). i’m not sure if they’re still doing this, but since veritas offers admissions consulting services as well, you could also enroll in their one-day consulting seminar where you meet with some of their consultants, learn admissions strategies, and can ask questions. when i went last year, i heard they were thinking of discontinuing that because they said it was cutting into the consulting business.

by enrolling in the course, you have access to all those resources and get a complete set of books. there are 15 books and you go through 13 of them in-class. each book alternates between quant/verbal and the class structure also follows this format. the 2 books that aren’t gone through in class are both quant–book 0: math essentials and book 14: advanced word problems & quant review.

in my 2 classes i had 2 different teachers and i really liked my first teacher matt douglas. he’s so goofy and dorky and just made the class kind of fun. so if you’re in the san diego area, try to get him. i’m not sure how the other instructors differ, but between him and my other teacher mia mciver, matt spent most of the class going through problems from the book whereas mia had a slower pace and tried to spend a lot of time teaching the concepts.

i wanted to take a class to keep myself accountable. these classes are not cheap…at all. some of them offer free trials where you can sit in on a class on the first day and decide from there whether to enroll. i know both veritas and manhattan gmat do that. when i retook my veritas course, one guy was doing the trial and asked me for my input on whether he should fork out the dough and enroll. i told him then, and i’m telling you all now–the classes will not do anything for you unless you put in your due diligence. even though i told him this, toward the end of the class, he lamented that he thought his score would dramatically improve. there are plenty of people who self-study and do very well on their own…a prep course is definitely not needed. if you are self-disciplined and studious, i would say you don’t need to take a class. and even if you’re like me, you still need to self-study. like i said in my previous post, the average top bschool student put in an average of 100 hours on the gmat…that’s a lot of studying.

This was a wonderful course! My instructor was extremely knowledgable with each section of the test, and adapted to each of my classmates' levels. I would recommend the course to anyone who is looking to improve their score. I have not taken the test yet, but I am now more confident than ever!

Let me start off by saying, I've taken a competitor's LSAT course. I hated every second of it. The teacher was inexperienced and I felt like I threw away all my money. I was extremely wary coming into this prep course.

All of the Veritas staff are excellent. My instructor was amazing. She clearly has the experience and the flow of the course nailed down. I never felt lost or confused in regards to how the course was organized. She was approachable and could explain things in various ways so people who learn differently could grasp the same concept.

I came into the course more looking for confidence and the "tricks" of the GMAT. I found both. I decided to wait to take the test for a bit, but every time I email Ashley she is always there to help me out!
