I can’t recommend Ethan Todras-Whitehill enough. When I signed up for my course with Ethan, I had already taken the GMAT once and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to break through the ceiling I had hit after a few months of study. Almost all the test materials I had previously encountered centered on the idea that to beat the GMAT one must master and apply certain necessary tricks and strategies. In his instruction, Ethan covers these tricks and strategies and is quite adapt at illustrating when each should be applied; however, what sets him apart is his ability to transform each GMAT into a series of decisions. I think this is what most companies are trying to get at when they say “think like the test maker,” but there is a distinct difference between memorizing and identifying patterns and truly understanding the test’s underlying logic. To do this isn’t easy, but Ethan’s ability and willingness to work through the underlying logic on questions, and even answer questions about how the answer would change if a certain piece of information were to change, is exceptional and made all the difference for me.
I would recommend the in-person class; however, with Veritas there is always the option to retake the course. In my case, I started, but did not complete Ravi’s online course, and then a few months later took Ethan’s in person class. Given that the formats differed, I can’t make a true comparison between the two instructors, but do feel there is more depth to Ethan’s instruction, which can make all the difference if you find yourself able correctly answer questions, but struggle to do so efficiently. There is huge difference between taking the time to prove without a doubt that something is correct and being able to quickly know that something is logically correct. It is Ethan ability to teach the that latter that truly sets him apart.

50 Points

Taught by: Chris Kane

I thoroughly enjoyed having Chris Kane as my main Veritas Prep Live Online GMAT prep course, with a shoutout to Brandon Pierpont as my course TA. With this class, I was able to raise my score 50 points from my best practice test to my final score in just over a month. My study schedule (1 month) proved to be rather aggressive and I wouldn't necessarily recommend anybody duplicating it (there were a lot of materials and strategies to master), but it's certainly possible to get a strong score in a short time working with Veritas and Chris/Brandon.

I can't reccomend Chris enough. He literally helped write the books that Veritas uses in its course, and he knows his stuff. I feel like if we could have stumped him in our class, we would have. I don't think it's possible. He is a great communicator and highly engaging, which is understandably a difficult thing to do in the online format. But I feel like he had a strong rapport with each of us, and even encouraged fun banter among the students. This made the class sessions welcomed parts of my weekly routine.

I felt the course books did an excellent job of introducing the material one needed to understand going into the GMAT. The course itself introduced strategies I found extremely useful, including in areas in which I felt I was already strong. The homework problems drove everything home for me. If I had one issue with the program, it was that I felt the Veritas practice tests were significantly harder than the GMAC practice tests. While I agree with Veritas that it is better to offer a practice test that is harder than the real GMAT than one that is easier in that it will challenge the student more, I felt discouraged when I saw my scores were not making progress. I felt at that point in time I was more in need of a confidence boost than a gut check, but I suppose that's not what everybody needs in order to excel. Anyway, all turned out well for me in the end, so I can't complain too much.

Overall, I highly reccomend this course and format, and if you can get in with Chris Kane, do so!

Ethan was a great teacher and honed in on the fundamental's for GMAT success. He is easy going and brings humor into the lessons to lighten the mood while giving great tips on how to master the GMAT material. He goes above and beyond to answer questions and encouraged us to challenge every GMAT question to find out not only why the correct answer was correct, but also why the wrong answers were wrong. I strongly recommend Veritas and Ethan for any student's studying. Ethan opened my eyes to the tricks the GMAT attempts to play on the test-takers and how to tackle tough problems efficiently.

I took the Veritas Prep Class twice. There was a lot of content to learn, and Ryan did a great job flushing it out. After the first time I took the class I felt overwhelmed but stuck with the material. After taking the test and getting an OK score, I retook the class for free. I found myself really clicking with the class, teacher, and curriculum the second time and got a score that I was proud of. Overall, I would highly recommend this course. I took mine with Ryan McGorman, he was very helpful, considerate and engaging- both times!

The Veritas prep course is comprehensive course with ALOT of content to help you prep for the GMAT exam. The instructor is very knowledgeable and personable. One thing to keep in mind is that the course is fairly fast paced so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who feels that they really need to do a lot of work and who may need a lot more time in order to grasp the fundamental concepts in verbal and quant. You need to have enough time to do the homework between each class to truly benefit from this course. The course comes with a lot of practice questions but I think the answer explanations for some of the questions need a bit more detail. Overall, it was worth the money. I only took the GMAT once after completing the exam and was satisfied with my score. So, that's why I put a "0" for my GMAT score improvement.

I enrolled in Ravi's live online course after reading hundreds of stellar reviews praising his teaching abilities, commitment to his students' success, and sense of humor. At first, I wasn't convinced that Live Online would be as engaging as In-Person, especially at 8am in the morning—but I was proved so very wrong! Ravi packed SO much information into our twice weekly 3-hour sessions. I would often find myself laughing out loud throughout the course and had many "AH-HA" moments where I could literally *feel* myself improving. Our masterful co-instructor, Chris Speck, was an incredible asset and made for an even more successful, efficient, and engaging virtual classroom experience.

When I took the GMAT last week, Ravi's voice was at the back of my head warning me about those sneaky "sucker" answers. I scored a 730, which was a huge improvement from the 600 I got on my initial Veritas practice exam. Would definitely recommend Ravi as an instructor to anyone looking to make a similar jump in their overall score.

I increased my score 130 points through Vertias Prep!

Veritas Prep Live Online is an excellent way to prepare for the GMAT. If you are motivated to score above a 700 and willing to put the time and effort in to do so, you will not be disappointed with Veritas. I highly recommend Chris Kane as an instructor as well, he takes the time to ensure everyone in the class “gets it” and adds a degree of levity to the program as well. I increased my score 130 points through Vertias Prep! I increased my score 130 points through Vertias Prep! I increased my score 130 points through Vertias Prep!

Ravi is really an excellent teacher. I know it's hard to believe sometimes considering he basically only has 5-star reviews, but Ravi is talented, professional, and caring. After spending 6 weeks learning with him, I definitely feel far more prepared for the GMAT than I did before. Frankly, I think I would've done horribly had I not been given the materials and tricks for doing well on the exam. In addition to Ravi's excellent teaching, Veritas' course material and support network are also great resources that you can draw on up to a year after you first sign up. If you haven't taken the GMAT before and don't know what to expect, I would definitely recommend taking this course to gain insight and experience in prepping for the exam.

Veritas really has the best prep material and the best instructors ever. This course beat my expectations and was truly amazing. From the books, to the online platform (with lots of homework exercices, practice tests, etc) to amazing instructors such as Ravi, Veritas is worth the money. My instructor Ravi played a huge role in making my preparation so much easier. He taught us a lot of great tips and methods to save time on the GMAT and to increase our accuracy on questions. I haven't taken the GMAT yet, but I can really see the improvement in my practice tests and feel more and more confident about taking the real exam. I highly recommend Veritas and Ravi to any student that would like to see real improvements in his/her score.

So where to begin. I'll start by saying that my instructor with Veritas Prep, Ken Thapar, was awesome. If you're debating about enrolling in a GMAT prep program you might already know that the subjects covered in the GMAT are far ranging and can seem very complex for the average test taker. Speaking for myself, the math portion, also known as the quantitative portion would be the biggest hurdle, as it had been some time since I had taken any math in a classroom setting. I believe that teaching the math subjects can be very cumbersome for an instructor, as everyone in the class came in with different levels of understanding. That being said, Ken recognized that and took his time to start with the fundamentals and build up from there. He truly has the heart of a teacher.
