I don't think I could ever study on my own in a way as effective as I did with the live lectures. I got the GMAT Official Guides books and I was so so lost. I didn't know where to start in the sea of mathematics, the ones I thought I never had to cross path again in my life. Well the course schedule has put me in the zone. I've had so much motivations because everyone in my class did. I even tried to attend the class while I was at the airport. 2 nights/week with Ravi was so worth it. His humor and language got me excited for classes. After the course, I feel more prepared. I know where I am standing, well... a little behind but I feel like if I study the materials hard enough, I can do it. The free workshop about MBA admission was very helpful too.

This review is for: Veritas Prep Private Tutoring
Location: Draper, UT USA
Taught by: Aaron Pond

I opted to do a private tutor with the online course. Aaron Pond was my tutor. He is very nice, and I am sure he is a great tutor for most students. However, I didn't find the tutoring format to be helpful for me. Eventually I chose to forego the tutoring and then to go through the course by myself. I found that to be much more useful. Again, I don't mean to disparage Aaron because he was an absolute professional and a good teacher - the style just didn't work for me.

The one piece of the course I didn't care for was the practice tests. They vastly increased my scores compared to the official GMAT practice tests. If I had it to do over again, I'd take the course as a refresher, and then use the official guide and practice tests to finalize.

First things first, I have to applaud Ravi. The guy knows his stuff and more importantly he knows how to deliver the message to his students. You can tell he is passionate about what he does, which makes the class breeze by. Although online, the class is extremely engaging. Not to mention, Ravi has his ways of telling when you aren't paying attention and will get you back on track.

Veritas prep itself is a very organized program. Each class has its own book, which is great because you don't have to lug around a gigantic book. The website is easy to use and offers a lot of helpful tools.

I would definitely recommend this class!

I was a bit overwhelmed at first. There are so many companies to choose from and so many different types of classes. But, after reading countless reviews and after seeing how professional the website was, I decided to use Veritas Prep. It was a great decision - you can't go wrong!

After deciding to use Veritas, I had to pick the type of class. I wanted to do a full length course, but the only class that fit my schedule was the live-online class. I am very much an in-person kind of student, so I was very weary of spending a good bit of money on an online course. But, again, after reading countless great reviews about the class (specifically those about master teacher Ravi Sreerama), I decided to try it out. Again great decision!

The online class is easy to use, is of great quality, and is very interactive. Ravi is an amazing teacher. He makes some of the most difficult concepts easy to understand and he personally pushes each and every student to do the best they can do. You can re watch classes that you missed or want to better understand, and you can also access a bunch of other useful resources like practice problems, skill builders, pre recorded videos, live homework help, all sorts of thing.. Its a great program.

The one thing I will say is that I found the practice problems and practice test to be significantly harder than the real deal. I think it was good because it better prepares you for test day, but don't sweat it if you feel like you're not doing as well as you should be. I would highly recommend downloading official GMAC practice tests and doing as many as you can along with the Veritas Prep tests. I found the GMAC tests to be very representative of the real GMAT, and I consistently scored 100 points higher than I did on the Veritas tests.

Anyways, with that said, I highly recommend Veritas Prep and Ravi Sreerama. I thought so highly of it that I decided to hire Veritas as my Admissions Consultant. We'll find out how that goes, but I have no doubt.

Best of Luck!

I took a 6 week classroom course with Ravi Sreerama and he is an excellent teacher. Very engaging and knowledgeable. Ravi was genuinely interested in our success.

Online resources (test bank, homework help, prep test, skillbuilders) are also great.

Veritas is the complete package. I used the "Homework Help" service frequently.

However, I agree when it is said that Veritas Prep Online Course is a great course for those who already have a solid foundation in both Quant and Verbal skills. Do not expect to be spoon-fed information. In the end, taking the Veritas course didn't help me to improve my score because my math foundation was not so strong and I am not a English native speaker. Veritas will not help those with basic foundation.

I am taking Manhattan course know and I clearly notice the difference. It has been much more helpful for me.

I really enjoyed attending my GMAT online course. I signed up for the 7am-10am PST Saturday and Sunday's section with Ethan since it was the only class time that fit with my schedule. I was a bit hesitant attending a online course because I tend to get distracted but the online class is so interactive that I was focused the entire time. Ethan is the best instructor I've ever had! If I had more professors like him during my college years I would've attended every single one of my classes. He is very engaging and makes the most boring and difficult topics such as data sufficiency and sentence correction easy and painless. The handouts he provides are a huge timesaver. Overall after taking this course and doing all the homework and practice questions that come along with the course I increased my score over 100 points. Thanks Ethan!

Great class. I found the class to be extremely engaging and the material to move at a fast but reasonable pace. I also found the accompanying workbooks to be great study materials to follow with the live course. Ravi is also a fantastic teacher and makes the hard and dense material enjoyable to learn. Would definitely recommend Ravi's course to anyone else thinking of taking the GMAT!

To get a benefit out of this course you have to be willing to work hard. But if you do, this course can do wonders for your GMAT score.

Caveat* The veritas prep CAT simulator tests, in my personal experience, score much lower than the actual exam itself. My performance on the actual GMAT was about 80 points higher than my highest score on a Veritas practice exam.

One of the best things I learnt from Ravi's lessons is that its more about strategy than anything else.
GMAT test is not about testing math or verbal skills. I used to think it was and thus such a waste. What GMAT test really is that its more about better approach and strategy. I am so glad that I took this class.
This course has been by far the best investment and educating process... totally worth every penny!!!!
Highly recommend attending one of Ravi's online sessions to those who want to really crush it on test day.
All the best!

I went with a personal tutor over a class because I knew I had specific strengths and weaknesses, and a class would be less helpful for me than a tutor in targeting those weaknesses. David was an overall great tutor. He was patient and friendly, and he took the time in the beginning to understand me, my background, and my goals for the GMAT and beyond. He was quick to then move right into carefully selected practice problems that targeted my key weaknesses (mainly Math). These problems were challenging, but David was right there to guide me through a problem or provide a much needed hint. The overall process (as suggested by David) was a combination of practice problems with David, practice at home with the official GMAT guide, and two practice exams made up of real retired GMAT questions. This process allowed me to quickly and efficiently improve my scores and my comfort with the GMAT. After only 3 weeks and 12 total hours with David, I went from barely cracking open a GMAT book to achieving a score that was even better than what I had originally hoped for. Thanks David!

Ravi was an excellent instructor this course is worth the money. If you follow Veritas Preps lesson plan then there is no way your score won't improve. The main take away I got from Ravi is to "Dumb it Down" keeping things simple and if it looks like its too much work and I'm doing to much work than I'm probably missing the point. the point of the gmat is to work smart not hard. These lessons break down the fundamentals showing you what the question is asking, why they're being asked and how to answer the correct questions while understanding why the other answer choices are wrong.
