Stanford's Graduate School of Business announced today that Dr. Garth Saloner has been named as its new dean. Dr. Saloner, who is a "a scholar of entrepreneurship and business strategy," will pick up the reins of leadership from the dean of the last ten years, Dr. Robert Joss, on September 1, 2009.
Prior to his appointment Dr. Saloner was the Jeffrey S. Skoll Professor of Electronic Commerce, Strategic Management and Economics, and a director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Graduate School of Business. He was involved in the development and implementation of Stanford's new curriculum.
