The University of Michigan (Ross) Essay Analyses 2019-2020
The University of Michigan Ross School of Business is back for 2019-20 with a very similar set of essay topics.
The adcom says they evaluate their prompts each year based on “(1) the quality of the insights we were able to glean from responses; and (2) feedback from applicants and students on whether they felt the essays gave them an opportunity to share something unique about themselves.” The results of this year’s review were apparently positive: they made only one minor change to “group 3” of their short answer prompts.
We like this batch–the short essay length makes for focused writing without much opportunity for applicants to get off track. Continuing our essay analysis series, here’s our updated perspective on the Ross essays:
