\"Chicago<\/a>Last week, Michael Polsky, Chicago energy entrepreneur, announced that he\u2019d be donating an $8 million gift to the Michael P. Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship, a research center established in 2002 after his initial $7 million donation. The gift will support Chicago Booth\u2019s growing innovation initiatives by creating new programs and providing space and resources for interdisciplinary, cross-campus collaborative teams in new venture development.<\/p>\n

Polsky, who graduated from Chicago Booth<\/a> in 1987, is the founder and CEO of Invenergy, North America\u2019s largest global clean-energy company.<\/p>\n

Entrepreneurship is currently one of the top concentrations at Booth, and Booth\u2019s Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge has become one of the b-school\u2019s most popular competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cEntrepreneurs lead the way in innovation and job creation, which in turn benefits our entire society,\u201d says Polsky. \u201cI am proud that we are investing further in our efforts to foster and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit among the entire University of Chicago community.\u201d<\/p>\n
