\"For<\/a>According to a Carnegie Mellon University press release<\/a> last week, benefactor and class of 1982 alumnus, David A. Tepper, donated an additional $67 million to CMU \u201cto create a major new academic hub that will further strengthen collaboration among CMU\u2019s schools and colleges.\u201d The hub will include a 295,000 square-foot building that will serve as the new home for the Tepper School of Business<\/a>, as well as \u201cthe Tepper Quadrangle,\u201d an expansion of the campus to a 4.5 acre site.<\/p>\n

According to the press release, the Tepper Quadrangle will \u201cfacilitate high levels of cross-campus collaboration and bring together interdisciplinary initiatives, including entrepreneurship<\/a> and technology-enhanced learning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert M. Dammon, Tepper\u2019s dean further notes: \"There are natural intersections between the business school and the research and teaching taking place at each of the seven schools and colleges at Carnegie Mellon. The new home for the business school will enable us to enhance our undergraduate and graduate programs in business and economics, expand the possibilities for innovative research and interdisciplinary degrees, and allow us to offer a flexible technological framework that anticipates the needs of next-generation learning. The combined involvement of faculty, students, alumni and staff from across the CMU campus is a rare, powerful resource.\"<\/p>\n

In the last nine years, Tepper has gifted more than $125 million (including this gift) to CMU.
