New Scholarships for Executives at Booth<\/strong><\/p>\n In an attempt to engage and contribute to the continuous learning of executives of non-profit organizations, Chicago Booth School of Business has begun to give a new set of scholarships to qualifying applicants. The new scholarship has been named the Harry L. Davis Executive Education Scholarship for Nonprofit Leaders, named after the former interim dean and former deputy dean Harry L. Davis who spent a 50-year tenure at Booth, contributing to the curriculum acting as founder and creator of the Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) and Management Labs. In order to carry on Davis\u2019 dedication to management education, the Harry L. Davis Executive Education Scholarship for Nonprofit Leaders was created to bring competitive edge to non-profits. <\/p>\n Each of the four scholarships awarded are directed toward non-profit executives who are leaning to make their organizations more competitive. The scholarship will earn them a position in a weeklong Booth Executive Education Program, where the average tuition is $8,675. The scholarships cover tuition as well as books, instructional materials, lunches, and coffee breaks. These one-week courses teach executives skills such as lean thinking, financial innovation, and how to become an adaptive leader in an increasingly globalized business world. Scholarships will be awarded in four areas: finance; leadership and organizational behavior; marketing and sales; and strategy. Candidates chosen from each of the four areas will then have the opportunity to choose from several course titles in each area. Candidates in finance, for instance, may be able to choose from courses such as Mergers and Acquisition, Financial Analysis for Nonfinancial Managers, or Finance for Executives. <\/p>\n To become eligible for the Harry L. Davis Executive Education Scholarship for Nonprofit Leaders, applicants must be executives directly responsible for shaping the organization\u2019s mission and values, have at least one year of experience in their current role, and preference will be given to applicants whose organizations have never been represented in the winner\u2019s pool for the scholarship in order to heighten diversity. Upon selection, candidates will have up to one year to enroll in a Booth Executive Education Program. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
