{"id":23348,"date":"2014-03-24T10:41:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T17:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gmatclub.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/top-5-gmat-study-tips-from-your-fellow-students\/"},"modified":"2014-03-24T10:41:35","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T17:41:35","slug":"top-5-gmat-study-tips-from-your-fellow-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gmatclub.com\/blog\/top-5-gmat-study-tips-from-your-fellow-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Top 5 GMAT Study Tips from Your Fellow Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/03\/24\/top-5-gmat-study-tips-fellow-students\/\" title=\"top5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"top5\" src=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/top5.jpg\" alt=\"Top 5 GMAT Study Tips from Your Fellow Students\" width=\"200\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/top5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3412 alignleft\" title=\"gmat study tips\" alt=\"top5\" src=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/top5.jpg\" width=\"144\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a>I always ask my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/GMAT\/About-the-GMAT\/index.html?cmp=blog:gmat_032414\" target=\"_blank\">GMAT<\/a>\u00a0students who are nearing the end of their Kaplan course if they have any recommendations for incoming students.\u00a0 While not all of you are or will be Kaplan students, the Top 5 pieces of advice that come from this\u00a0survey\u00a0are absolutely useful to everyone on the road to GMAT Test Day.\u00a0 Read them and take them to heart, especially because this counsel was borne from the trials and tribulations of people who have been there.<\/p>\n<h4>Top 5 GMAT Study Tips from Your Fellow Students<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t underestimate how long it takes to go through a completed practice test.<\/strong>\u00a0 Set aside at least as much time as it took you to take it to go back over it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start making flashcards from day 1.<\/strong>\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot to memorize.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make it to every class.<\/strong>\u00a0 Things happen, sure, but don\u2019t let avoidable situations keep you from going to class.\u00a0 The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/GMAT\/GMAT-Prep\/On-Demand\/gmat-on-demand.html?cmp=blog:gmat_12292011\" target=\"_blank\">Lessons On Demand<\/a>\u00a0are good, but it\u2019s much better to learn in class with other students and the teacher. (Note: if you aren\u2019t in a test prep class, treat your scheduled study time the exact same way\u2014don\u2019t skip it.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask questions.<\/strong>\u00a0 Never be afraid or hesitate to ask about anything.\u00a0 If no one is around you at the time a question arises or you don\u2019t want to interrupt your \u201cgroove\u201d with a Google search, then jot it down and find the answer later.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep up with your homework.<\/strong>\u00a0 There is more than you think and when you get behind, it is really difficult to catch up.\u00a0 (Note: to those not in a class, you will be assigning yourself homework.\u00a0 You\u2019ll make lists that include items like \u201cTake a practice test\u201d or \u201cPractice passage mapping for reading comp\u201d or \u201cMemorize all triangle properties.\u201d\u00a0 Same thing applies\u2014don\u2019t fall behind.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Quite simply, I couldn\u2019t agree more. GMAT prep<a title=\"Click to Continue &gt; by AdRemoverUTube\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2011\/12\/29\/studying-for-the-gmat-clean-as-you-go\/\"><\/a>\u00a0is a long, arduous road.
