for good reason.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/gmac.com\/alumniperspectives\" target=\"_blank\">GMAC\u2019s annual survey of business school alumni<\/a> (21,000 graduates from 1959 through 2013) yielded some interesting results for anyone considering business school.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Business School Value<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>91% recent business school alumni from 2010\u20132013 consider their graduate management education a good to outstanding value<\/li>\n<li>66% of alumni from 2010\u20132013 agree their education was financially rewarding<\/li>\n<li>95% of all alumni would <a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/09\/25\/why-get-an-mba\/\">recommend their business school program to others<\/a><\/li>\n<li>96% of all alumni report that they are proud to be an alumni of their graduate business program<\/li>\n<li>80% of all alumni attribute their career success to their graduate management degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>MBA Job Satisfaction<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>86% of alumni agree that they make an impact at their company<\/li>\n<li>85% are engaged with their work<\/li>\n<li>85% have challenging and interesting work<\/li>\n<li>84% have meaningful work<\/li>\n<li>81% work for a company that values their skills and abilities<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Perhaps even more interesting to those of you debating <a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/10\/03\/mba-admissions-in-the-headlines-october-2014-news-and-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\">the value of a business school degree<\/a> right now is what the alumni from the class of 2013 had to say.\u00a0 In a rough economy and soft job market, how are these most recent graduates faring?<\/p>\n<h4><b>Business School Employment<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>90% of class of 2013 graduates employed<\/li>\n<li>57% employed in the products and services, finance and accounting, and consulting sectors.<\/li>\n<li>74% of the class of 2013 say they could not have obtained their job without their graduate management education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Value of an MBA<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>95% felt their education developed their qualitative skills<\/li>\n<li>92% reported that their business school experience helped their quantitative skills<\/li>\n<li>90% said business school <a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/10\/01\/business-school-networking-dont-forget-your-professors\/\" target=\"_blank\">expanded their network<\/a>, as well as prepared them for the job market<\/li>\n<li>96% rate the value of their degree as outstanding, excellent, or good<\/li>\n<li>96% of the class of 2013 would recommend a graduate management education to others.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most important barometer for many people is the actual number: <a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/10\/06\/average-mba-salary-and-mba-megabucks-ceos\/\" target=\"_blank\">what kind of salary<\/a> can you expect after investing in business school?<\/p>\n<h4><b>Starting MBA Salary: Class of 2013<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The median starting annual salary offered to US citizens who graduated from a full-time two-year MBA in 2013 is US$90,000, with a bonus and additional compensation of US$10,000 (Figure 5).<\/li>\n<li>US citizens who graduated from part-time MBA programs reported a median annual salary of US$85,000.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GMAT-Oct-24-blog-entry.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3947\" alt=\"GMAT Oct 24 blog entry\" src=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/GMAT-Oct-24-blog-entry.png\" width=\"529\" height=\"373\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/pages\/unlock-the-good-life\/code?utm_source=offline&amp;utm_medium=collateral&amp;utm_term=pan-grad&amp;utm_content=bracelet&amp;utm_campaign=grad-pan-grad-bts-2014\" target=\"_blank\">kaptest.com\/unlock<\/a>\u00a0to get important facts about your field, read inspiring stories, and enter our $10K Good Life Sweepstakes!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/10\/24\/mba-salary-and-return-on-investment\/\">MBA Salary and Return on Investment<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\">Kaplan GMAT Blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The relationship of an MBA salary and what constitutes a great return on investment from business school are inextricably linked&#8211;
