Arrogance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/confidence.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4017 \" alt=\"Successful business school applications require confidence, but arrogance is never welcome when going after your MBA.\" src=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/confidence.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Learn to distinguish between confidence and arrogance on your business school application.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>One of the big discussions that comes up consistently in business school admissions\u00a0is how to apply to business school successfully and grab the good life you deserve; in particular, one of the biggest irritants we hear admissions officers and deans complain about is an application that\u00a0<a title=\"Business School Applications: Don't Pretend You Have No Weaknesses\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/05\/19\/mba-admissions-myth-i-have-no-weaknesses\/\" target=\"_blank\">treads on the wrong side of the line between confident and arrogant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the process of applying to become an MBA, confidence in yourself is an invaluable asset. \u00a0Unfortunately, it&#8217;s easy to go too far and come across as arrogant, entitled, or over-proud&#8211; characteristics that definitely rub admissions committees (like most of us) the wrong way.<\/p>\n<h3>TIP: Negativity is not a sign of confidence.<\/h3>\n<p>When you are trying too hard to come across as confident, it&#8217;s extremely easy to <a title=\"Arrogance and Business School Myths\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2013\/01\/17\/mba-admissions-myths-destroyed-i-have-no-weaknesses-or-failures\/\" target=\"_blank\">give the impression of arrogance<\/a>. \u00a0If you feel the need to display your confidence by talking down to people, placing yourself above others, or acting disrespectfully, you look\u00a0arrogant, not confident.<\/p>\n<h3>TIP:\u00a0Don&#8217;t try to fake it.<\/h3>\n<p><a title=\"Creating A Great First Impression on Your Application\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2012\/07\/28\/mba-admission-creating-a-strong-first-impression\/\" target=\"_blank\">Your business school application is an incredibly important step<\/a> toward your future, and if you are planning on proving your ability by displaying your innate superiority to all beings, you are\u00a0greatly diminishing your chances of business school success, even with a great GPA and excellent LSAT scores.<\/p>\n<h3>TIP: Show, don&#8217;t tell.<\/h3>\n<p>Remember that you don\u2019t need to fake confidence, you already have it.\u00a0\u00a0Show your ability and your humility\u00a0instead of <a title=\"Confessions of an Admissions Officer\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2010\/02\/24\/confessions-of-an-admissions-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\">telling admissions committees how awesome you are<\/a>&#8211; your belief in yourself will shine through.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/confidence-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4019\" alt=\"Becoming an MBA means showing confidence, not arrogance to business school admissions committees.\" src=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/confidence-1-300x211.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t commit any of the above mistakes on your MBA applications!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gmat.kaptest.com\/2014\/11\/10\/how-to-apply-to-business-school-confidence-v-arrogance\/\">How to Apply to Business School: Confidence v.
