An MBA\u2019s market in real estate<\/h4>\n

As the real estate market continues to gain strength after the financial downturn in 2008, global real estate firms are looking to top-ranked business schools like Wharton<\/a>, Cornell Johnson<\/a>, and the UK\u2019s Henley Business School<\/a> for fresh talent. Job opportunities in this area grew by 23% in 2014. What a difference a couple of years can make. (BusinessBecause<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Cream of the career services crop<\/h4>\n

No business student should be a stranger to the career services office. The folks there (at least the ones doing their jobs well) will become instrumental in landing job interviews upon graduation and in securing internships along the way. The Economist<\/a> <\/em>recently put together a list showcasing which global business schools boast the best career services departments. Rankings have been at the forefront of MBA news for the last few months. If you still haven\u2019t had your fill of the MBA rankings fever, U.S. News & World Report<\/a><\/em> offers a cool infographic examining some key findings from its 2016 scorecard of leading business schools. It\u2019s easy to read and understand\u2014no Integrated Reasoning skills required. One surprising fact you\u2019ll learn: A Harvard Business School education will cost you three times the amount of an MBA from Brigham Young University\u2019s Marriott<\/a>. MBA or CFA?<\/h4>\n

If you want to secure a top position in investment banking, it\u2019s best to forgo a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earn your MBA instead. A new study finds that many more directors at banks worldwide have a business school degree than a CFA. One thing to keep in mind, however: Going for your CFA will cost about $3,000. Your MBA education, on the other hand, can cost well over $100,000. (Bloomberg Businessweek<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Ross to the rescue<\/h4>\n

On the philanthropic side of MBA news this week, international experts at the University of Michigan\u2019s Ross School of Business<\/a> are partnering with Detroit\u2019s public schools in a restructuring effort aimed at helping turn around the district\u2019s financial troubles. Big jobs for Big Data<\/h4>\n

The head of MBA careers at one of Australia\u2019s leading programs, the University of Western Australia Business School<\/a>, says that demand for Big Data managers is increasing as more companies recognize the benefits of understanding analytics to drive business and make sound decisions. \u201cTechnology is radically altering the employment picture,\u201d says another expert.
