There is a far greater proportion of \u201cBuy\u201d ratings than \u201cSell\u201d ratings. In fact, 80% of all major financial institution\u2019s ratings are \u201cBuy\u201d ratings. Given that inflated volume of \u201cBuy\u201d ratings, it\u2019s hard to trust the quality of those ratings, and equally challenging to take them seriously. Even the simple act of reducing a financial institution\u2019s analysis to just \u201cBuy\u201d, \u201cHold\u201d, or \u201cSell\u201d is dubious since a company\u2019s financial outlook is typically quite complex.
