Learn the answers to these questions and more in our roundup of top business school news.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Baby boomers get top-ranked education<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span>Harvard Business School\u2019s eight-year old Advanced Leadership fellowship program is for experienced business professionals who want to work on solutions to vexing social and economic problems such as poverty, global health, and the environment. For the participating fellows\u2014the majority of whom are in their fifties and sixties\u2014the program offers them something other than retirement and also allows them to develop new skills that could help them develop \u201ca second act\u201d in their careers, possibly in public service. \u201cIt\u2019s been a transformational year intellectually, personally, professionally and culturally,\u201d says one participant who completed the program in November. (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/2\/81293b5a-91f6-11e5-bd82-c1fb87bef7af.html#axzz3uJM2MjTP\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span>The Financial Times<\/span><\/i><\/a><span>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Kelley\u2019s entering class<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span>Meet <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kelley.iu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Indiana University\u2019s Kelley School of Business<\/span><\/a><span>. The Bloomington-based MBA program is one of the top-ranked schools in America, and this year especially, it has a few things to boast about. The school attracted nearly 1,500 applicants this past cycle, up nearly 250 over the last year. Kelley is one of many business schools that have seen an uptick in applicants. Due to the program\u2019s increased popularity, its acceptance rate dropped from 33% to 29%. Median GMAT score jumped from 668 to 680. Kelley\u2019s new class features students from a diverse set of undergraduate backgrounds, ranging from business majors (28% of the class) to social science majors (11%). (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/poetsandquants.com\/2015\/12\/11\/meet-the-indiana-kelley-mba-class-of-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Poets &amp; Quants<\/span><\/a><span>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Mapping MBA programs<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span>The business school admissions process is more than just achieving a high GMAT score\u2014of course, that\u2019s a big part of it. But the end goal is getting into an MBA program that fits your personal, professional, and financial needs and capabilities. Check out this map of the top MBA programs in the United States. Notice the cluster of dots located in the Northeast, which is where most of the top-ranked programs are. That said, there are some fine programs all across the country. It\u2019s critical to both securing an internship and starting the job hunt. While networking was once almost exclusively mixers and cocktail parties, it\u2019s now expanded its reach to social media\u2014a tweet can go a long way. Consider these stats: Two-thirds of adults use social networks like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn, up from 7% ten years ago. \u201cCareer network vehicles such as LinkedIn are an ideal medium for job candidates to showcase themselves,\u201d says one HR and recruitment expert. Philip Blackett will be graduating from Harvard Business School\u2026 but just five years ago, this would have seemed near impossible. That\u2019s because the soon-to-be MBA was once broke and had lost his home.
