Making yourself crazy over what to expect? What if you have to use the bathroom? What if your\u00a0pencil breaks? What if there\u2019s a weird smell and it gives you\u00a0a headache and you just can&#8217;t focus and so you pass out?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Relax.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t fear what isn\u2019t there. We&#8217;ll calm you with a\u00a0dose of reality so you can breathe easy about the details and focus on what\u2019s really important: your GMAT\u00a0score. Predicting GMAT\u00a0Test Day will further help you <a title=\"Score Predictor\" href=\"https:\/\/getready.kaptest.com\/scorepredictor\/?utm_source=businessschoolinsider&amp;utm_medium=kaplan-blog&amp;utm_term=pre-business&amp;utm_content=blog-article&amp;utm_campaign=grad-gmat-score-predictor\" target=\"_blank\">predict your score<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Myth #1: I\u2019ll have to hold it for three-and-a-half hours.<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>Reality: <\/b>Y<b><span>ou get breaks!<\/span><\/b><span>\u00a0Two, in fact. <\/span><span>The Revised GMAT includes two optional eight-minute breaks, one after Section 2 (after 60 minutes of actual exam time), and one after Section 3 (or 75 minutes of exam time). Because both breaks are optional, you can continue onto the next section if you don\u2019t want to interrupt your flow. Keep in mind, though, i<\/span><span>f your breaks take\u00a0more than 8 minutes, it will eat into your time for the next test section.<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Myth #2: I\u2019ll put my phone on silent in my pocket.<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>Reality: <\/b><span>Smartphones, watches, recording, and photographic devices aren\u2019t allowed in the testing room, but you will be able to store these items on the premises. The ONLY things you\u2019re allowed to bring into the testing room are your ID, the names of the programs to which you would like to send your GMAT scores, and the appointment confirmation letter or email you received from Pearson VUE.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Myth #3: I already registered online; I\u2019ll just roll up to the test and walk in.<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>Reality: <\/b><span>You\u2019ll need proper identification that exactly matches the name you used when registering. Plus, be ready to smile for the camera\u2014the test center administrator will take your digital photograph and\/or signature, as well as digital scans of your palm vein pattern. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mba.com\/us\/the-gmat-exam\/prepare-for-the-gmat-exam\/plan-for-test-day\/presenting-proper-identification.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Suitable forms of ID <\/span><\/a><span>are: a passport, driver\u2019s license, military ID card, or government-issued identity card. If testing outside your country of citizenship, a passport is always required. Remember, if you can\u2019t present the appropriate ID, you will not be permitted into the testing center.<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Myth #4: I\u2019ll have no idea what kind of space I\u2019m walking into, I may get lost. <\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>Reality:<\/b><span>\u00a0Not if you take a practice test <\/span><span><a title=\"Official Test Day Experience\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/gmat\/gmat-practice\/gmat-official-test-day-experience?utm_source=businessschoolinsider&amp;utm_medium=kaplan-blog&amp;utm_term=pre-business&amp;utm_content=blog-article&amp;utm_campaign=grad-gmat-official-test-day\" target=\"_blank\">at an actual testing facility\u2014<\/a>and p<\/span><span>rograms like <\/span>Kaplan\u2019s Official Test Day Experience <span>let you do just that. Taking a practice computer test in a testing facility gives you the opportunity\u00a0to drive to the center, gauge traffic, anticipate parking, and scope\u00a0out the layout and temperature of the testing room\u2014in addition to experience GMAT\u00a0testing in its natural environment. Even if you can&#8217;t schedule this, however, rest easy. Remember that others will be testing, as well, and there will likely be precise instructions and signs to get you where you&#8217;re going.
