As I\u2019ve mentioned in the past, no single score is scrutinized independently, but rather your entire profile is examined as a unified package.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WWAS (What Would Adcom Say)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interpret your scores as an adcom member would and ask yourself these questions: <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Is the rest of your profile stellar? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Do you have solid grades in quant-related courses? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Is it possible that you\u2019re just not great at standardized tests? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Is your score perhaps not so low for people in your demographic group? <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Are you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accepted.com\/mba\">applying to schools<\/a> where the average GMAT score is not far off from your lower-than-you-would\u2019ve-wished score?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you answered \"yes\" to any of the above, then you have a chance! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Steps to Despite-Low-Quant-GMAT Success<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following\u00a0<\/span><strong>3 tips<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0will help you overcome the odds and present a strong case of acceptance to a top b-school, despite your lower-than-desired quant stats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>1. Do more. Do better.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">You MUST improve your quantitative abilities or demonstrate that you have them in some other way. In b-school and in the business world at large, knowing how to crunch numbers is essential. You\u2019ll need to act quickly to show you are equipped for a spot in their next b-school class. Enroll in a calculus, statistics, and\/or accounting class at your local community college ASAP. Make sure you have the prerequisite skills; you will need to earn an A! If you have time, also take additional quant-oriented courses, like finance or economics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>2. Highlight your quant abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In your\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accepted.com\/mba\/resume\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">resume<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accepted.com\/mba\/essay\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">essays<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, highlight quantitative aspects of your work to further demonstrate your quant proficiency. Use vivid details, examples, and anecdotes that will prove to the adcoms that your low quant score was a fluke, and that it\u2019s clear to you and those who work with you that there are no quant problems here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>3. Let your recommenders get the job done<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask your\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accepted.com\/mba\/tips-for-writing-letters-of-recommendation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recommenders<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to highlight your quantitative achievements as well.
