Test your knowledge with the following quiz:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">1.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Waitlist letters may be three or more single-spaced pages long:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a) if the applicant has a lot of accomplishments to talk about <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) they should never exceed two pages <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) if they are <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/2015\/03\/09\/got-waitlisted7-tips-get-off-law-school-waitlist\/\">law school waitlist letters<\/a> only<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) if you are not enclosing an additional letter of recommendation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2. Expressing some frustration or disappointment in the waitlist letter about not being immediately accepted is:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a) OK if the school is really your number-one choice<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) appropriate if it reflects how you honestly feel<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) never a good idea<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) useful in the letter\u2019s conclusion to elicit sympathy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">3. During the waitlist process, you should generally aim to contact the waitlisting school:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a) every other day if it\u2019s really your number-one choice<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) weekly by email or\u00a0mail<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) only when prompted by the school<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) every three to four weeks (if the school allows contact)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">4.The main topics of a waitlist letter should be:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a) your recent professional achievements<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) new reasons why this school is a good fit for you<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) developments in your community work since applying<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) any substantial recent examples that offset the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/2016\/02\/21\/6-tips-for-talking-about-your-weaknesses\/\">weaknesses<\/a> of your application<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e) all of the above<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">5. It\u2019s acceptable to repeat wording from your application essays in the waitlist letter:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a) never<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) if you are in a rush to get the letter done on time<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) if it was an especially strong part of your application<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) if you think it\u2019s important enough to reinforce<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>[Answers: 1b, \u00a02c, 3d, 4e, 5a]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How'd you do?
