The most outcomes-focused among you will want to find out how strong your target business school\u2019s career service center is\u2014the people whose job it is to help place students in internships and lucrative, exciting careers. But not all career services centers are created equal. And for whatever reason, not every student takes advantage of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cPeople in the office would be saying, I don\u2019t know this person or they haven\u2019t been in touch. We made a promise back then to try to deal with that,\u201d said \u00a0<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span>Regina Regazzi, the new assistant dean for the Parker Career Management Center at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anderson.ucla.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>UCLA\u2019s Anderson School of Management<\/span><\/a><span>, when reflecting on a recent graduation ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Word of advice: On all your campus visits, stop by the career services office and see how they are helping their students and alumni. (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/poetsandquants.com\/2017\/02\/11\/best-mba-career-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Poets &amp; Quants<\/span><\/a><span>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Aspiring MBAs who study together\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Married couples and those in committed relationships go through plenty of trials and tribulations. For a select few, it means going for your MBA at the same time in the same school. But can you be love birds while also serving as group project team members (or competitors) at the same time?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meet Marika and Pablo, who relocated from Montreal to Paris to attend HEC Paris. \u201cBefore the MBA, we decided that we would not work together in school for the entire program, so that we could have our own parallel, but unique, experiences. This made coming home every evening even more special because we left any possible frustrations of our respective work groups behind,\u201d the couple said. (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessbecause.com\/news\/mba-france\/4436\/a-labor-of-love-how-these-mba-couples-made-it-through-business-school-together\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Business Because<\/span><\/a><span>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Diversity in HBS case studies<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Harvard Business School, one of the world\u2019s premier MBA programs, is well-respected for its thousands of case studies, which are essentially deep dives into the challenges companies face and how they face them. The kind of behind-the-scenes access they are given to create these case studies is something to behold. And these case studies are taught all over the world as a \u201chow to\u201d for business school students. But there\u2019s one thing it\u2019s been lacking for a while: African-American CEOs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Steve Rogers, a senior lecturer at the school, estimates that fewer than one percent of all executives featured in HBS\u2019s case studies have been African-American, even as nearly ten percent of all U.S. businesses are owned by African-Americans. Rogers is working to remedy the situation by writing his own case studies featuring African-American principals. \u201cWe\u2019re showing the true spectrum of the business world,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are now righting this wrong and being more inclusive.\u201d (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/business\/2017\/02\/10\/harvard-business-school-makes-case-for-diversity\/vSkHnIj35zXBU7ijIM7OCL\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span>The Boston Globe<\/span><\/i><\/a><span>)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>London\u2019s business schools face uncertainty<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>London is one of the world\u2019s financial centers, rivalled perhaps only by New York City as the center of global business. With Great Britain leaving the European Union, however, London\u2019s finance sector faces uncertainty.
