The exam will now be 30 minutes shorter! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gmac.gcs-web.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/shorter-gmat-exam-launches-april-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC)<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has implemented this change to reduce the anxiety level of test-takers, and to streamline the exam experience. The exam content, types of questions, and average time per question will not change. It\u2019s the same GMAT exam \u2013 but instead of 4 hours, the exam will now take 3.5 hours, including time for breaks and instructions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GMAC was able to cut the total exam time by reducing the number of unscored (research) questions in the Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections of the exam and by shortening instruction\/tutorial screens. There are no changes to the GMAT\u2019s Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) and Integrated Reasoning (IR) subdivisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GMAT scoring will not be affected by this change since the number of scored questions will remain the same. The Total Score and discrete Quant and Verbal section scores will be equivalent to exams taken before the change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to GMAC\u2019s senior director of product management, Vineet Chhabra, \u201cWe are always looking for ways to help build candidate confidence and streamline the test experience, all with one goal in mind\u2014to <a href=\"https:\/\/reports.accepted.com\/mba\/gmatscorewebinar\">help GMAT test-takers do their very best<\/a> on exam day.
