Round 1 deadlines are on the horizon<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Fourth of July holiday has come and gone in the United States, and Round 1 MBA application deadlines are on the horizon. There are basically eight weeks between the publication of this post and\u00a0Harvard Business School's<\/a>\u00a0Round 1 deadline on Wednesday, September 5. [In Europe,\u00a0HEC Paris's<\/a>\u00a0first rolling deadline was June 1 and\u00a0IESE Spain's<\/a>\u00a0early date is September 4.]<\/p>\n

HBS kicks off a\u00a0six-week early-and-Round-1 deadline sprint (marathon?) for leading U.S. MBA programs. The application race doesn't let up until mid-October, after\u00a0The Consortium<\/a>,\u00a0Indiana Kelley<\/a>,\u00a0Rice Jones<\/a>,\u00a0UNC Kenan-Flagler<\/a>, and\u00a0NYU Stern<\/a>\u00a0wrap up a busy October 15.\u00a0Vanderbilt Owen<\/a>\u00a0follows four days later, at which point we'll be less than 11 weeks from the dawn of Round 2.<\/p>\n

The goal, of course, is for none of this to ever feel like a race. And that requires planning. With that in mind, I prepared an MBA deadline calendar that looks out over the next few months, focusing on early and Round 1 deadlines (and all the days in between) for 29 top full-time MBA programs in the U.S. and a handful of programs in Europe and Asia. I'll update the calendar as we approach Round 2.<\/p>\n

A few things to keep in mind<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are a few things to keep in mind as you look over the days and weeks below. First, I've only included deadlines for\u00a0flagship full-time MBA programs<\/strong>. The calendar does not include part-time, truncated, or specialty programs, so you won't see the likes of NYU's\u00a0Fashion & Luxury MBA<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Tech MBA<\/a>\u00a0down there, both of which are one-year programs that carry\u00a0R1 deadlines of September 15<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I included a single asterisk (*) for programs with non-traditional round structures \u2013 think Sep-Oct-Jan at\u00a0Cambridge Judge<\/a>, Sep-Nov-Jan at\u00a0INSEAD<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Oxford Said<\/a>, Oct-Nov-Jan at\u00a0NYU Stern<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Cornell Johnson<\/a>, Oct-Dec-Jan at\u00a0UNC Kenan-Flagler<\/a>, and Oct-Dec-Feb at\u00a0Georgia Tech Scheller<\/a>.\u00a0[You will note that I did not tag programs with\u00a0separate<\/a>\u00a0\"early<\/a>\u00a0rounds\"<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in the same manner.]<\/p>\n

\u200bI added a double asterisk (**) for programs with rolling admissions, namely\u00a0Columbia Business School<\/a>\u00a0on the U.S. side. There's also a slew of European and Asian programs with rolling admissions that are not shown because they don't fit neatly into the calendar\u00a0\u2013\u00a0IE Business School (Spain)<\/a>,\u00a0HEC Paris<\/a>,\u00a0IMD (Switzerland)<\/a>,\u00a0SDA Bocconi (Italy)<\/a>, and\u00a0National University of Singapore<\/a>, to name a few.<\/p>\n

As of this writing,\u00a0USC Marshall<\/a>,\u00a0Wash U Saint Louis (Olin)<\/a>,\u00a0Notre Dame Mendoza<\/a>,\u00a0London Business School<\/a>,\u00a0ESADE (Spain)<\/a>,\u00a0HKUST (Hong Kong)<\/a>,\u00a0CEIBS (China)<\/a>, and others have not yet published their 2018-2019 MBA application deadlines. I will add them as soon as they are available.\u00a0Please review and confirm all deadlines and cutoff times directly with the programs to which you are applying.<\/strong><\/p>\n
