This year, they&#8217;re just asking directly. Seriously, it doesn&#8217;t get more straightforward than\u00a0&#8220;Why do you feel Columbia Business School is a good fit for you?&#8221; They&#8217;ve also added a simple &#8220;role model&#8221; question that would feel at home in any job interview.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an unimaginative set of prompts. One could say that they are &#8220;easy&#8221; compared to the open-ended essays at HBS or Stanford GSB, but that misses the fact that MBA admissions is a\u00a0<em>competitive\u00a0<\/em>process. An &#8220;easy&#8221; essay topic simply means applicants will have to work extra hard to stand out.
