Then get ready to hit the ground running. The NYU Stern essays for the 2020-2021 admissions season have been announced, and they remain unchanged from last year.<\/p>\n<p>But first, a note about these NYU Stern essays from the Stern AdComm:<\/p>\n<p><em>Our Stern essay questions give you the opportunity to more fully present yourself to the Admissions Committee and to provide insight into your experiences, goals, and thought processes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Your essays must be written entirely by you. An offer of admission will be rescinded if you did not write your essays.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>NYU Stern Essays for 2020-2021<\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Essay 1: Professional Aspirations<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>(500 word maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>What are your short and long-term career goals?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>How will the MBA help you achieve them?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Essay 2: Personal Experience (aka \u201cPick Six\u201d)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and to your future classmates using six images and corresponding captions. Your uploaded PDF should contain all of the following elements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A brief introduction or overview of your \u201cPick Six\u201d (no more than 3 sentences).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Six images that help illustrate who you are.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A one-sentence caption for\u00a0each\u00a0of the six images that helps explain why they were selected and are significant to you.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Your visuals may include photos, infographics, drawings, or any other images that best describe you. Your document must be uploaded as a single PDF. The essay cannot be sent in physical form or be linked to a website.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Essay 3: Additional Information (Optional)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>(250 word maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)<\/p>\n<p><em>Please provide any additional information that you would like to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee. This may include current or past gaps in employment, further explanation of your undergraduate record or self-reported academic transcript(s), plans to retake the GMAT, GRE, IELTS or TOEFL, or any other relevant information.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you are planning to attend the Langone Part-time MBA program and do not currently live in the NYC Metro Area or the Westchester area, please indicate your plans to pursue the program. If you are planning to relocate to the NYC area, please indicate your plans for employment.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The EQ Endorsement<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>NYU Stern calls IQ+EQ a core value of the school, and it seeks exceptional individuals who possess both intellectual and interpersonal strengths. Emotional intelligence (EQ) skills such as self-awareness, empathy, communication and self-management are at the core of our community of leaders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are required to submit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stern.nyu.edu\/programs-admissions\/mba-programs\/admissions\/eq-endorsements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two EQ Endorsements<\/a>\u00a0with your application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>One EQ Endorsement\u00a0<b>must come from your current supervisor<\/b>.\u00a0If you cannot include an endorsement from your current supervisor, you must provide an explanation\u00a0in the online application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The second EQ Endorsement may come from someone who knows you professionally and\/or personally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The endorsement must be from someone who knows you personally and\/or professionally and can act as a persuasive advocate of your EQ strengths.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediate family members should not write your EQ Endorsement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>EQ Endorsement Questions:<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>1. Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant\u2019s role in your organization.<\/p>\n<p>2. How does the applicant\u2019s performance compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles (if applicable)? Please provide specific examples. (E.g. what are the applicant\u2019s principal strengths?)<\/p>\n<p>3. Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant\u2019s response.<\/p>\n<p>4. IQ+EQ is a core value of NYU Stern, and we seek exceptional individuals who possess both intellectual and interpersonal strengths. Emotional intelligence (EQ) skills such as self-awareness, empathy, communication and self-management are at the core of our community of leaders. Please provide one specific and compelling example to demonstrate the applicant\u2019s emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>5.
