The rankings are based on surveys sent out to the 486 business schools with master\u2019s-level business programs in the US, accredited by AACSB International.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/poetsandquants.com\/2021\/03\/30\/u-s-news-2021-mba-program-ranking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Poets &amp; Quants<\/a>,<\/em>&nbsp;unlike the&nbsp;<em>Economist<\/em>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<em>Financial Times<\/em>, only the&nbsp;<em>U.S. News<\/em>&nbsp;list ranks&nbsp;<em>all<\/em>&nbsp;the major U.S. business schools. All&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/m7-mba-programs-everything-you-need-to-know-in-2020\/\">the M7 business schools<\/a>&nbsp;opted out of the&nbsp;<em>Economist<\/em>\u2019s ranking, and five of the M7 chose not to participate in the&nbsp;<em>Financial Times<\/em>&nbsp;ranking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 486 business schools that received surveys, 364 replied, and 143 supplied sufficient data and had large enough 2020 graduating classes looking for employment for valid comparisons. Schools were ranked in eight areas. The data collected was standardized in order to compare them with the mean and standard deviations of other schools.&nbsp;<em>U.S. News<\/em>&nbsp;weighted and added the indicator standardized scores (z-scores) and gave the top school a score of 100. The remaining schools received a percentage of the highest score. The final ranking is in descending order based on these scores. MBA specialties were also ranked again this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/do-mba-rankings-matter\/\">[Read: Do MBA Rankings Matter?]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-highlights-of-the-2022-mba-ranking\">Highlights of the 2022 MBA Ranking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These were some of the significant changes in the full-time MBA rankings:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/stanford-gsb-mba-essay-tips-deadlines\/\">Stanford University<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.accepted.com\/wharton-mba-essay-tips-deadlines\/\">University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)<\/a>&nbsp;retained their first and second place rankings this year.
