This year,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-business-schools\/new-york-university-01152\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">US News &amp; World Report<\/a>\u00a0ranked NYU Stern the #10 Full-time MBA program and #4 Part-time MBA program.<\/p>\n<p>This past application cycle, NYU Stern admitted applicants with an average GMAT score of 723 and an average undergrad GPA of 3.60. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stern.nyu.edu\/programs-admissions\/full-time-mba\/community\/class-profile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">class of 2022<\/a>\u00a0has an average of 5.2 years of pre-MBA work experience. Records also note that 43% of students are female and 32% of students have international citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike many other top programs, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stern.nyu.edu\/programs-admissions\/full-time-mba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NYU Stern Full-time MBA<\/a>\u00a0has a Round 2 application deadline in November. Using NYU Stern\u2019s brand call to action, we want to know how you view change. Change: _____ it. Fill in the blank with a word of your choice. Why does this word resonate with you? How will you embrace your own personal tagline while at Stern? Examples:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Change: Dare it.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Change: Dream it.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Change: Drive it.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Change: Empower it.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Change: Manifest it.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Change: [Any word of your choice.]<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Last year, NYU Stern took a more direct approach to the essay, asking candidates about their goals and how a Stern MBA would help. This year\u2019s question is a bit more challenging. Not only is there more to cover here, but you also have a shorter word limit to do it in.<\/p>\n<p>As you answer this question, pay careful attention to the opening: Stern lets you know it is looking to learn about your \u201cexperiences, goals, and thought processes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This means both the <em>what <\/em>and the <em>why <\/em>are important here.<\/p>\n<p>As you pick a tagline, be sure to consider why this approach to change is meaningful to you. Naturally, you should be able to connect it to a part of your experience. Show the reader how you have lived this tagline.<\/p>\n<p>It is also crucial that you cover what you will do moving forward, both at NYU Stern and beyond! Tell the reader HOW you will drive change.<\/p>\n<p>There is a lot to cover here so use your words carefully and avoid cliches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essay 2:\u00a0<em>Personal Expression (a.k.a. \u201cPick Six\u201d): Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and to your future classmates using six images and corresponding captions. Your uploaded PDF should contain all of the following elements:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>A brief introduction or overview of your \u201cPick Six\u201d (no more than 3 sentences).<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Six images that help illustrate who you are.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>A one-sentence caption for each of the six images that helps explain why they were selected and are significant to you.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: Your visuals may include photos, infographics, drawings, or any other images that best describe you. Your document must be uploaded as a single PDF. The essay cannot be sent in physical form or be linked to a website.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you are seeking NYU Stern Pick Six examples, know that there are no wrong answers here as this is your chance to let the reader into your world. You do want to include a well-rounded mix of photos that tell the reader more about you.<\/p>\n<p>While a mix of personal and professional photos can work well, some candidates will include only personal details. Think about what makes you unique and what values drive you as you select these images. Finally, follow the directions. One sentence is ONE sentence.
