It's a question we get frequently for our students. And it's a good one: after so much prep work, how do you know - really know - that you're ready?<\/p>\n<p>Here are 40 signs that it might be time to go ahead and take  your chances on the test:<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> After steadily increasing over the course of several months, your CAT scores have recently begun to plateau or decrease.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. <\/strong>Your GMAT preparation is interfering with other aspects of your MBA applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>You have trouble falling asleep because your mind keeps spinning and tossing up new problems for you to solve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>You\u2019ve developed an obsessive compulsive ritual that has you double-checking your answers like crazy and wasting precious seconds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Your MBA applications are going out next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong>Your MBA applications are going out tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Your MBA applications have already gone out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. <\/strong> Your idea of a conversation starter is that \u201cdiagonal-of-a-cube\u201d  problem which shows up on every CAT in some form or another.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong> You can\u2019t tell if you really mastered the free CATs offered by GMAC or  if you've just memorized the answers because you did them so many times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. <\/strong>You know the decimal equivalents not only for 1\/7, 1\/8, and 1\/9... but for 1\/23, 2\/131, and 3\/41.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11. <\/strong>Your idea of fun is \u201cworking backwards\u201d on the GMAT - staring at the answer choices and coming up with a problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12.<\/strong> You penned an educational rap song that cleverly incorporates all the GMAT idioms on your list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13.<\/strong> You enjoy gardening, but the word \u201cstem\u201d only means one thing to you now (hint: it has nothing to do with plants).<\/p>\n<p><strong>14. <\/strong>Reading Comprehension passages have seeped into your unconscious. You dream of \u201csessile organisms\u201d and \u201comnivorous bats in semi-arid climates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>15.<\/strong> The phrase \"scope shift\" enters into your conversation hourly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16.<\/strong> You\u2019ve composed an outline for every possible \u201cAnalysis of an  Issue\u201d prompt you could possibly get (you can never be too prepared!).<\/p>\n<p><strong>17. <\/strong>On more than one occasion, you\u2019ve used a Sharpie to underline important keywords on your computer screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18.<\/strong> During an extended argument with your girlfriend\/boyfriend, you catch  yourself trying to outline the \u201cmain idea,\u201d \u201cpurpose,\u201d \u201cattitude,\u201d and  \u201cstructure\u201d of his\/her rant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19. <\/strong>You\u2019ve charted your CAT performance and discovered that it looks like a plot of f(x) = sin(x*pi\/2) - x\/3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20.<\/strong> Your social circle now consists primarily of online GMAT forum buddies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>21.<\/strong> You\u2019re convinced that your secret destiny is to write GMAT test questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22. <\/strong> The last time you went to the circus, the path of the trapeze artists  reminded you of a \u201cparallel lines\u201d problem you tackled on your last  practice test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23. <\/strong>You\u2019ve developed an \u201cinternal timer\u201d that tells you when 120, 150, and 180 seconds are up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>24.<\/strong> Each time you encounter the words, \u201cleast,\u201d \u201cgreatest,\u201d and \u201cexcept\u201d in  everyday life, a giant buzzer goes off in your mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25. <\/strong><em> You get kind of \u201cAmerican Psycho\u201d on friends that beat your last CAT  score <\/em>(10 points make you nervous and 30 put you over the edge).<\/p>\n<p><strong>26. <\/strong>You know that the marginal improvement in your CAT scores week over week follows a Bessel function of the first kind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27. <\/strong>Your GMAT prep routine involves the song, \u201cEye of the Tiger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>28. <\/strong>You know what a \"resumptive modifier\" is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29. <\/strong>Your synonyms for acing the exam not only include \u201crocked\u201d and \u201cowned,\u201d but \u201cbeasted,\u201d and \u201cpwned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>30. <\/strong>You noticed the idioms error in the sentence above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>31. <\/strong>You can\u2019t listen to anyone talk without silently identifying the assumptions in their argument.<\/p>\n<p><strong>32.<\/strong> You keep a scrapbook of all your CAT performances. Table of contents  includes \u201cscores,\u201d \u201cpacing stats\u201d \u201cvocab words,\u201d \u201coddball problems,\u201d  \u201creading comp\/AWA topics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>33. <\/strong>You have a cute little frame picked out in which to display the print-out of your unofficial score report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. <\/strong> You know exactly how many shots of espresso and what spectrum of  lighting is required for you to maximize your GMAT mental agility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>35. <\/strong>You\u2019ve consulted an astrologist, a dietician, and your personal trainer on your ideal GMAT registration date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>36.<\/strong> GMAT studying has you so wired up you sound like Bradley Cooper on NZT in the movie, \u201cLimitless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>37.<\/strong> Your GMAT reading regime makes <em>The Economist<\/em> read like <em>Entertainment Weekly. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>38.<\/strong> You've had this thought: \"Business school...?
