Solution B

$$\frac{1}{5}*(\frac{1}{5} - \frac{1}{4})$$
$$\frac{1}{5}*(\frac{4}{20} - \frac{5}{20})$$
$$\frac{1}{5}*\frac{-1}{20}$$
$$\frac{-1}{100}$$

PEMDAS

1/25 - 1/5 * 1/4
Then multiplication
1/25 - 1/20
then subtract to get -5/500 = -1/100

$$1)$$. $$\frac{1}{5}^2- \frac{1}{5}*\frac{1}{4}$$

$$2)$$. $$\frac{(20-25)}{500}$$

$$3)$$. $$\frac{-5}{500}=\frac{-1}{100}$$

Right?!?!?

Rewriting the equation as $$\frac{1}{25} - \frac{1}{20}$$

As numerator of both fractions is same (i.e 1) & denominator 25 > 20, we can easily predict that the result would be -ve

So options C, D, E are ruled out

LCM of 20 & 25 is 100, so option B stands out

Answer = $$\frac{-1}{100}$$

SOLUTION

$$(\frac{1}{5})^2-\frac{1}{5}*\frac{1}{4}=$$

(A) -1/20
(B) -1/100
(C) 1/100
(D) 1/20
(E) 1/5

$$(\frac{1}{5})^2-\frac{1}{5}*\frac{1}{4}=\frac{1}{25}-\frac{1}{20}=\frac{4}{100} - \frac{5}{100}=-\frac{1}{100}$$.
