Q1-C..usage of 'THAT' is wordy in rest all choices...
Q2-D..llism.. 1st'impose stricter limits on medical services' and 2nd part'require doctors to see more patients' are independent and 3rd part'spend less time with each' is dependent on 2nd part' require doctors to see more patients' ... only D follows it correctly..
Q3-E... it correctly makes'combined....' subordinate to main'vantage pt'..rest all are wordy or do not follow this pattern..

A. found in the Philippines and that resembles - resembles isn't as good as resembling in this situation
B. found in the Philippines and that, resembling - incorrect comma placement
C. found in the Philippines and resembling
D. that is found in the Philippines and it resembles - ambiguous "it"
E. that is found in the Philippines and that, resembling - incorrect comma placement

2. Among lower-paid workers, union members are less likely than nonunion members to be enrolled in lower-end insurance plans imposing stricter limits on medical services and requiring doctors to see more patients, and spend less time with each.
(A) imposing stricter limits on medical services and requiring doctors to see more patients, and spend - "that impose" better than imposing
(B) imposing stricter limits on medical services, requiring doctors to see more patients, and spending - "that impose" better than imposing
(C) that impose stricter limits on medical services, require doctors to see more patients, and spend - "require" is wrong here.
(D) that impose stricter limits on medical services and require doctors to see more patients, spending - seem as if the patients are spending less time with each other?
(E) that impose stricter limits on medical services, requiring doctors to see more patients and spending - "requiring" and "spending" parallel

3. Because she knew many of the leaders of colonial America and the American Revolution personally, Mercy Otis Warren was continually at or near the center of political events from 1765 to 1789, a vantage point combining with her talent for writing to make her one of the most valuable historians of the ear
(a) a vantage point combining with her talent for writing to make - Combining wrong
(b) a vantage point, when combined with her talent for writing, that made - slimmed down to this and E.
(c) a vantage point that combined with her talent for writing, and it made - "and it made" wrong
(d) and this vantage point, which combined with her talent for writing to make - sentence doesn't really make sense in context
(e) and this vantage point, combined with her talent for writing, made - sounded the best to me

Can someone explain why in the first question there is no parallelism problem? "found" and "resembling" are not parallel if we chose C....

Thx you!

In Q2 above -
The plural form of insurance policy is insurance policies. And similarly for insurance plan it should be insurance plans.
If that's the case then how come options C,D and E can be considered which uses singular that instead of plural those? ('that impose stricter limits....')

Logic trumps grammar, verb-ed modifier can be parallel to verb-ing modifier.
