2002 sales increase x% from 2001. 2003 sales decrease x% from 2002. 2003 sales are 9% less than 2001. what is x?

(1 + x/100 )( 1- x/100 )P = (1-9/100)P
1-sqr(x/100) = (1-9/100)
x/100 = 3/10
x = 30
