From given data

0.3f = 0.2h = 0.2 *1500

F = 1000

Solved easily by a 2X2 matrix:

Text in black: given information
Text in red: calculated values

From the attached picture:

z= 1500

and 0.3y = 0.2z ---> 0.3y = 300 ---> y =1000, B is the correct answer.

30%(fishermen) = 20%(hunters)

number of hunters = 1500.

so, 20%(1500) = 30%(fishermen)

number of fishermen = 300*100/30 = 1000. Ans (B).

If we draw the Venn Diagram, we can see that

30% of Fisherman = 20% of Hunters (Common Space)

We know, Total Hunters = 1500, Hence 20% H = 300.

This is equal to 30% of Fisherman. => 30%F = 300 => F= 1000

Option B.

Direct way: Solve 0.3 F = 0.2 H => F = (2/3) * 1500 => F = 1000

Let total no. of Fishermen =100
Therefore, Fishermen who are also hunters=30
And, Hunters who are fisherman=30*5=150( Since, only 20% of all hunters are fishermen)
Therefore, if there are 1500 hunters, there will be 300 hunters who are fishermen and 700 Fishermen who are not hunters
Answer =700+300=1000

800score Official Solution:

People who do both hunting and fishing make 30% of fishermen and 20% of hunters. There are 1500 hunters so 1500 × 20% = 300 pers. do both hunting and fishing. Same people make 30% of all fishermen.30% of fishermen = 300 pers.

Fishermen = (300 / 30) × 100 pers. = 1000 pers.

The correct answer is choice (B).

Since 20% of all hunters in Piscataquis County are also fishermen, there are 0.2 x 1500 = 300 hunters who are also fishermen. Since 30% of all fishermen in Piscataquis County are also hunters, we can let f = the total number of fisherman in the county and create the following equation to solve for f:

300 = 0.3f

3000 = 3f

f = 1000

Answer: B

Asks for:
Q: F=?

Gives:
0.3F=0.2H
H=1500

Solution:
0.3F=0.2(1500)
0.3F=300
F=300/0.3
F=1000

Let total fishermen is x
total hunters is y
as per the question stem
(30/100)*x=(20/100)*y
also y=1500
calculating x we get x=1000
answer B
