Hi Guys,

Today I gave my GMAT and scored a 680 (Q49, V34). Over the last month, I have been giving MGMAT and gmapPrep papers. My score varied between 690 and 740.

GmatPrep V2005 Test 1 - 710
GmatPrep V2005 Test 2 - 710
GmatPrep V1.2 Test 1 - 710
GmatPrep V1.2 Test 2 - 710
MGMAT CAT test 1 - 710
MGMAT CAT test 2 - 740
MGMAT CAT test 3 - 690
MGMAT CAT test 4 - 690
MGMAT CAT test 5 - 700

I felt that Quant section of GmatPrep and the real Gmat test were of similar difficulty. However, the verbal section was pretty brutal. The CR's and SC's blew me off. Both were pretty lengthy and written in a very convoluted manner. I had to re-read SC and CR statements 2-3 times to understand the meaning/purpose of the statements. I never faced such trouble (barring a couple of questions in each test), during my entire Prep CAT tests experience.
The RC's were pretty lengthy, however, I felt that compared to the SC and CR questions, they were relatively easy. Literally, The verbal section "owned" me.
My verbal prep included: Aristotle SC Grail, MGMAT SC, Aristotle RC99, OG10 and 12, and Kaplan 800.

I am planning for a retake in 2 months and I am not looking to spend huge bucks on taking tuition.

My tentative strategy:
1. Few people have suggested to do LSAT CR questions. I am thinking of regularly doing them since they are above the usual GMAT level.
2. Do LSAT RC's and re do Aristotle RC's.
3. SC --> Revise MGMAT and Aristotle SC?? Not sure whether this will be of any help.

Experts, please guide me with some "recommended course material/strategies for re-takers" that can help me perform well in verbal. I have completely exhausted the current material, and I dont feel that re-reading old material will helping me immensely. I need some good suggestions to help chart out what to do to get my verbal score at 40+ in the real GMAT (and not just in the practice CAT papers.)
