I had ~10 min left as well when I finished the verbal, but I felt it was much easier than GMATprep. When I took the GMATprep I typically had anywhere from 1-3 min left.
(I got a 44 verbal on both the GMATprep & the actual GMAT)

I think it depends... for me, I felt the SC was harder on the actual test, but SC was always my weak point I felt like the RC was MAD easy, and accounted for most if not all of the 10 min saved. (95-100% hit rate for both RC & CR on GMATprep, ~33% hit rate on SC before studying, ~70% after studying).
