Hi Div,
You should retake it, if you are fairly confident of getting a 50 or 51 on math. You have a very good chance of scoring 750+ with some extra effort.

A 750+ would give you a slight edge in one dimension. Needless to say, its just one dimension and not the entire application. But heck, when you are this close(with 5 easy points right there on Q), I'ld say go for it!!

Hi,

First i don't think that 720 is that bad a score...but there are some points to keep in mind if you plan to take the tests again
1) Will you be able to add 5 more points your Quant score...that will take your total score to some where around 740...given that you verbal remains the same

2) bigger question...are you confident that you will be able to maintain your verbal score? Why i ask this is because the test scores vary from day to day...

3) will increasing your score, from 720 to say 750+, really add significantly more value to your application? One thing which will work in favour is that you will show that you are willing to do what it takes to get an admission to top schools..

4) instead of preparing for GMAT again, can you spend that time in a more useful way such that you add more value to your overall application...like taking up some charity work, etc..

and finally it will be your decision...whatever makes you happy...you should not look back later in life and say.."what if i had retaken the GMAT?"

cheers!
