Hi bigred11,

Congratulations on a 720 GMAT! I get the frustration of being penalized for "silly mistakes," but 720 is a good score. If you are targetting 8 schools for R1 and R2, I recommend you take the time to develop your applications. As mentioned by the previous post, there are several components that matter in the application process, and the GMAT is only one of them. It's imperative that you have clear goals and a distinctive message of who you are and your values to be successful in this process.

If you would like to discuss your profile offline, I am happy to get on a call. Please reach out.

Good luck!

Susan

Just took the GMAT yesterday and got a 720(48Q,41V, 8IR). Had I gotten a 49Q, which I think is possible when I don't make silly mistakes, I would have had a 740 total. My verbal is very consistently 40-41 and IR is normally ~6-8. I plan to apply this cycle to Ross (did undergrad a Michigan), Tepper, Kellogg, Fuqua, Darden. I am also considering applying to HBS, GBS, and Booth, I for sure would had gotten a 740 yesterday. 3 years WE as a Software Engineer, becoming technical lead of 4-5 developers after a year.

Hi bigred11,

It always advised having 720+ for most of your targeted schools, hence their average score is already 710 or more. Retaking GMAT targeting to add 20 points more will make your way smooth for schools listed above.
