Hi,
GMAT1003,
Thank you for your post!
First, I would like to congratulate you on showcasing extraordinary persistence and setting a great example of endurance and strong character. Coming to your GMAT, you did a great job backing a 760 in your GMAT. If you do have a strong overall GPA and strong academic stats, then I don't think you need much focus on upgrading your profile academically.
Coming to your work experience, since you switched your role/company, you need to give strong reasons why you think it was a good time for you to switch? What are your aims & aspirations regarding your new role, and you would need to link your past experiences and the new skill-set developed in your tenure with your post-MBA goals? For further reference, I suggest you go through our article on
How you can justify your career switch to pursue an MBA for a career change!, this would most certainly help provide insights and help you uniquely re-structure your profile.
Deciding on post-MBA goals is all about connecting your experience with your post-MBA goals, as you would need to convince the admission committee that your future goals are relevant and bring about
Collinearity in your post-MBa goals. Right now, I feel your profile is still brief at some points, so I would like to know more about your work experience and exposure so that I can help you decide on your post-MBA goals. Moreover, If you'd like, we are happy to hop either on a
free profile evaluation call or
book a free ding analysis session with us sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further help you with your strategy for essays & post-MBA goals and interviews regarding MBA programs at your convenience.
Interact with the current B school students and industry experts who’ll help you prepare a roadmap for your R1 applications for top B schoolsCheers!

Hi,
2021 Applications Background: 4/5 rejections with 760 GMAT (
https://gmatclub.com/forum/760-gmat-4-5 ... 76146.html)
So I have decided to give this another shot this year in R1 (I'll also probably add 1-2 more schools in Europe). Rotman will remain an option as a safety net.
Last year, while applying, I was working in a boutique investment bank with a focus on raising funds for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
My short-term and long-term goals last year revolved around working at a bulge-bracket investment bank across industry groups, preferably with a focus on sustainability. My longer-term goal was to become a senior leader and create low-cost financing opportunities for innovative solutions that support the transition towards sustainable development.
At the start of this year, I got a great opportunity to join a VC/angel investment platform and took it. So now I am working on raising funds for early stage (seed, angel and pre-Series A mostly) companies across sectors (but I am trying to build a Sustainability-related focus as well by working on EV/other related deals).
I have two questions:
1) Would this be considered a step-up in the reapplication?
2) I wanted to understand if changing my short-term and long-term goal would be possible, and if so, what should it be (especially because mentioning PE/VC is considered quite a red flag because of the dearth of post-MBA recruitment opportunities in the field)
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
