Commission = Fixed Commission + Variable commission

4400 = 1000 + 200 ( No of units sold)

3400 = 200 ( No of units sold)

So, No of units sold = 17

Letting n = the number of cars he needs to sell in March, we can create the equation:

4400 = 1000 + n x 200

3400 = 200n

n = 17
