A. 3:8
B. 2:5
C. 3:5
D. 2:3
E. 3:2

let total weight :10
above water weight ; 3/5 * 10 = 6 and submerged weight = 2/5 * 10 = 4

so ratio submerged / below water = 4/6 = 2/3 IMO D

$$\frac{Floating}{Total \ Weight} =\frac{3}{5}$$

Thus, part of the weight of the ship submerged is $$\frac{2}{5}$$

So, the ratio of the ship’s submerged weight to its exposed weight is $$2 : 3$$, Answer must be (D)

Since 3/5 of the ship is above the water, we see that 1 - 3/5 = 2/5 of the ship is submerged. Thus, the ratio of submerged weight to exposed weight is (2/5)/(3/5) = 2/5 x 5/3 = 10/15 = 2/3.
