A certain university, if 50 percent of the people who inquire about admission policies actually submit applications for admission, what percent of those who submit applications for admission enroll in classes at the university?

(1) Fifteen percent of those who submit applications for admission are accepted at the university.
(2) Eighty percent of those who are accepted send a deposit to the university.

say x have submitted applications
1 - doesn't say how may accepted the offer
2 - doesn't tell how many are accepted
combined - % enrolled = (x-x*0.15*0.8)*100/x

so we are looking for e/s, where e=number enrolled and s=number who submitted inquiries

from stat 1 , we know how many are accepted from s, but not how many enrolled. insuf.

from stat 2, we know that 80% who got accepted will enrol, but dont know how many got accepted. insuff.

together, we know that e=(0.15s)*0.8, and e/s = 0.15*0.8*100 %. suff. C
