A company is considering a change in its policy concerning its employees' ability to work from home. Currently, this company does not allow employees to work from home. The proposed policy would allow each employee to choose one day a week when he or she could work from home for the entire day.

The adoption of this policy would be most likely to increase the company's productivity if the employees' job functions required them to

A. Present the results of research and analysis once a week to an audience consisting of all company employees

B. Consult on a weekly basis with employees from other companies

C. Obtain a supervisor's approval before beginning a new project

D. Conduct field research at least once a week in locations that are closer to employees' homes than to their office

E. Attend a weekly meeting at which product prototypes are examined, tested. and assessed

(The correct answer choice should support the new policy being considered to allow employees to work from home on a working weekday chosen by them)

A. Present the results of research and analysis once a week to an audience consisting of all company employees. - Doesn't tell us how the productivity might increase, moreover different employees may choose different days to work form home.

B. Consult on a weekly basis with employees from other companies - Clearly, out of scope. No information is given about other companies.

C. Obtain a supervisor's approval before beginning a new project. Out of scope again, No information.

D. Conduct field research at least once a week in locations that are closer to employees' homes than to their office. - Seems like a good choice, supports the fact that productivity may improve.

E. Attend a weekly meeting at which product prototypes are examined, tested. and assessed. - Out of scope again.

I think the correct answer choice should be D.

The argument talks about the change in the policy of a company to include a day of work
from home as opposed to the current policy which does not allow employees to work from
home. We have been asked to strengthen this argument by giving a reason in which way
the company's productivity will be improved if this policy change is successful.

Option D(Conduct field research at least once a week in locations that are closer to employees'
homes than to their office)
gives us that very reason and strengthens the argument.

D - This option only seems to cut on unwanted travel time

IMO the answer is D. Only this option talks about how the productivity could be increased(by reducing the travel time).

A. Present the results of research and analysis once a week to an audience consisting of all company employees.
how does it help an employee working from home ? - not relevant to the scope of the question

B. Consult on a weekly basis with employees from other companies
does not matter , out of the scope

C. Obtain a supervisor's approval before beginning a new project
working from office is better in this case

D. Conduct field research at least once a week in locations that are closer to employees' homes than to their office
It will save time for the employee, who is working from home, correct answer

E. Attend a weekly meeting at which product prototypes are examined, tested. and assessed
not relevant to the topic
