Clearly per month is better because you have to pay a once for each project, so 2a for two projects..
Whereas if both are paid together, we pay b instead of a..
So savings are a-b
B

Otherwise
Project wise..
2 hrs .....a+b
4 hrs ....a+3b
Total 2a+4b

Month wise
2+4=6.....a+5b
a>b...... so savings 2a+4b-(a+5b)=2a+4b-a-5b=a-b

B
