A. Sounds good
B. "symbolizing" wrongly modifies the black leader.
C."which was the land which symbolized ..." sounds ridiculous
D "Black's returning" is a prime error example of ETS
E. "Black's return" is not good

(A)

Answer A - original seems find although I find it to be somewhat wordy. However, we are talking about the 'best' possible answer and not necessarily the 'perfect' answer.

Need "that" to start a restrictive clause. Eliminate D and E.

Eliminate B becuase "Africa Land" is just wrong... should be "African Land." Eliminate C because it introduces two non-restrictive clauses in a row, which is unneccessary.

A it is!

A - best choice out of the five. Definitely better than B.
B - doesn't flow properly
C - an "," usually comes before "which"
D & E - both incorrectly use the possesive

I agree. A should be. All the others change the meaning in some some. A, though not very concise, is my choice.

first we see a 3/2 split.
the correct idiom is advocate that, thus D and E are out
left with A, B, and C, A is the best choice as B and C seem to distort the intended meaning of the sentence.

Advocate is a demand verb that needs subjuctive rules to be applied.

So the structure should be X + advocate + that+ verb word.

based on that rule we can eliminate D and E.

C uses which for a restrictive clause.
B is awkward, needed that for proper modification.

A is using the modifiers properly.
So A it is.

Gamjatang is not necessarily for drunken people.
