Let the annual bonus be X.
A corporation triples its annual bonus.
So new bonus = 3X.

Increase = 3X-X =2X
The increase is what percent of the employees’ new bonus
= (2X/3X)*100
= 66 2/3%
Hence B.

Or pick a number:
If the annual bonus was 10, the new annual bonus is 30.

What percent of the employees’ new bonus is the increase?
increase = new bonus - old bonus = 30-10 = 20

% of new bonus = $$\frac{increase}{new bonus}*100 = \frac{20}{30}*100 = 66 \frac{2}{3}$$%

The highlighted part is irrelevant to this question...

Let earlier bonus be 1
Increased bonus will be 3

Net Increase will be 2

Quote:
What percent of the employees’ new bonus is the increase?

$$Required$$$$%$$ %= $$\frac{Increase}{New Bonus}$$ x $$100$$

$$Required$$$$%$$ % = $$\frac{2}{3}$$ x $$100$$

$$Required$$ % =>$$66 \frac{2}{3}$$%

E. 300%

Dear Moderator ,
Since the OA is 66$$\frac{2}{3}$$, it is hard to find the OA since option B looks like $$\frac{662}{3}$$.
Couldn't it be better to represent it in a more clear way? Hope you will look into this . Thank you.
