1) Three mugs of the same size and the same color: 2 types x 4 colors = 8 otions
2) Three mugs of the same size and of three different colors:
Type 1: to choose 3 differen colors out of 4 = 4!/3! = 4
Type 2: to choose 3 differen colors out of 4 = 4!/3! = 4

Total options: 8+4+4=16. Answer C.
