CW:HH = 4:7. Hence, 4/11 of all songs are CW and 7/11 of all songs are HH. Answer choice D.

Given 4*western=7*hip-hop.
Total no of records\(=w+h=w+\frac{4}{7}*w=\frac{11}{4}*w\)
Fraction of the records DJ plays that are country western: Western/Total records=\(\frac{w}{\frac{11w}{4}}\)=\(\frac{4}{11}\)

Ans. (D)

Trap answer is C, \(\frac{4}{7}\), which is a part-part ratio

"The DJ plays 4 country-western records for every 7 hip-hop records..." Part-Part ->
\((CW:HH)=(4:7)=\frac{part}{part}=\frac{CW}{HH}=\frac{4}{7}\)

We need part-WHOLE. "What fraction of [all] the records he plays are country western?"

Whole = [all] the records =
sum of ratio parts = (4 + 7) = 11

|------11 records played------|
|----4 CW----|-------7 HH-------|

CW are what fraction of all records played?
\(\frac{part}{whole}=\frac{CW}{AllRecords}=\frac{CW}{CW +HH}=\frac{4}{(4+7)}=\frac{4}{11}\)

We can let country-western : hip-hop = 4x : 7x.

So the total number of records is 11x, and the country-western records will be 4x/11x = 4/11 of the total number of records.
