A man after a tour finds that he had spent every day as many $5 notes as the number of days he has been away from home. If he had spent$9245 in all, how long did his tour last?

Let the Man stay on tour for x days.

Each day he spends total $5x. At the end of the tour, he has spent$5x * x = \$9245

Solving this we get x = 43
