Option 1: one of the seven day 20 ship, so if we take minimum one on remaining days ( as per questions) then total number of ship is 26.
Sufficient
Optuon 2: each day different number so for seven days total minimum number is 1+2+3+4+5+6+7=28.
Sufficient

Each day, no. of departures $$\geq{1}$$

Is total no. of departures, say T > 25?

Statement 1:
In 1 day, # of departures = 20
Considering 1 departure on each of the other 6 days (as min. 1 departure on any day),
T = 20+6 = 26
Sufficient

Statement 2:
# of departures different on each day.
Min. # of departure on any day = 1
So min. # of departures on each of the 7 days = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
T = 28
Sufficient

Statement1: In one of the 7 days, 20 ships departed.
No matter what day 20 ships departed, we have another 6 days that the company sent out at least 1 ship every day.
Let's count: 20+1+1+1+1+1+1=26.
For a certain seven days, at least 26 ships departed. Sufficient

Statement2: For a certain seven days, the numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Let's count the minimum possible numbers of ships departed for 7 days:
1st day- 1
2nd day-2
3rd day-3
4th day-4
5th day-5
6th day-6
7th day-7
Total: 27 ships (more than 25 ships)
Sufficient

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

IMO D

We have at least 7 ships departing over the span of seven days because every day at lease 1 ship is sent out by the shipping company

Statement 1 -> We have 20 ships departing on anyone of the seven days. The other days at least 1 ship departs. Therefore, the company sends out at least 26 ships over a period of seven days.

Statement 2 -> The number of ships that depart are different each day. Since the minimum number of ships departing on any day is 1, therefore the minimum number of ships departing over the period of seven days will be $$1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7$$, which is greater than 25

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
Total ships departed in that week = 20 + 6*1 = 26 at least (> 25)

Sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
Minimum departed = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 = 28 (>25)

Sufficient

IMO Option D

Pls Hit Kudos if you like the solution

Each alone is sufficient as the number will always be greater than 25

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.

Say Monday 20 ships departed ,now since at least a ship depart everyday;the other 6 days can have one ship departed each day
Total = 20+1(6) =26 >25

Now any number greater than one will even be greater than 25
.: sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Can be any number departed each day. Thus 50 ships on Sunday ,1 each on the other 6days
Totaling 56 >25
Or
2ships departed on Sunday and 1ship each on the other 6days
Totaling 8<25 (not sufficient)

1) if at least 1 ship departed per day and on a certain day a total of 20 ships departed then
20 in Monday +6 ships from tuesday-sunday = 26 total ships. Statement 1 is sufficient.

2) clearly insufficient.

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

statement 1: atleast one ship a day means atleast 7 ships in 7 days.
one day it took 20 ships so rest 6 days he will have atleast 6 more ships. total = 26

Hence sufficient

Statement 2: Each day have different no. of ships and no. can be only integer with minimum value as 1.
so in worst case the 7 day ships are : 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 .
total is 28

Hence sufficient.

Both statements are individually capable of finding the solution. Hence answer is D

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Stmt 1 - If 20 were shipped on one of the seven days and for the next 6 six days even if one ship departed everyday, that will be a total of 20 + 6 = 26 ships which is more than 25. Hence sufficient

Stmt 2 - Clearly insufficient because we don't have any information about how many ships departed each day. It could be just one every day or more than one.

statement one says - 20 ships departed on a single day.
If for rest of the six days we suppose only 1 ship Departs as it is given that atleast one ship departs each day then the total number ship departing in 7 days = 20 +6 = 26 which is more than 25. Hence on the basis of statement one only we can answer the Question.
Statement 1 is sufficient

Statement 2 says - On each day the number of ship departing is different
If for 1st day we suppose 1 ship departs
2nd day -2 ships depart
3rd day- 3 ships depart
4th day - 4 ships depart
5th day - 5 ships depart
6th day - 6 ships depart
7th day - 7 ships depart

Then total number of ships in 7 days - is more than 25
Statement 2 is Sufficient.

D is the answer because both statements provide enough information to count that more than 25 ships departed for a certain seven days

The answer is A , if on one day 20 ships departed then 20 + 6 ( minimum of 1 per day for all the other 6 days) gives us 26. A is enough, B is not sufficient .

Since in one of the seven days 20 ships departed, and from question stem we know atleast one ship departed each of the other 6
days. Total ship departed is atleast 26 - Sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
If number of ships departed each day are different, the least number of ship that will depart in those 7 days are 1+2+3+4+5+6+7
= 28. hence it is Sufficient

Hi, on point (2), do you think "different each day" might also mean a sequence like this: 1,2,3,1,2,3,1?

Nope, that's wrong. 1 and 1, 2 and 2, 3 and 3 are the same.
