E. $1,010 Source: McGraw-Hill's GMAT Fixed cost+ Variable cost = Total Cost Fixed cost= 550 Variable cost= the amount $$\frac{1}{5}$$ goes into 2.8 miles multiplied by 20 It is helpful to know off the top of your head that $$\frac{1}{5}$$=.2, so the division becomes relatively simple. $$\frac{2.8}{.2}$$= $$\frac{28}{2}$$ = 14 550+14(20)= total cost 550+280=830 Answer: C ________________ If you like my explanation drop me a kudos!
