Ratio of Marbles: 5 : 3

Let Amy has 5x marbles and betty has 3x marbles.

Total marbles = 8x.

Can form equation :

5x = 8x (5/9) +100

5x - 40x /9 = 100

5x = 900

x = 180.

Betty's Marbles = 180 * 3 = 540


The best answer is B.

How can number of marbles be equal to $. It seems the $ dollar symbol is an error.Hope you will kindly fix this. Thank you.
