For retail price = $20

First maximum discounted price = 20 - 30% of 20 = 20-6 = 14

Price after additional discount of 20% = 14 - 20% of 14 = 14 - 2.8 = 11.2

Answer: Option B

The maximum discount the store can give is 30% on $20 = $6
price now =20-6= $14
additional discount =20% = $2.8
price now =14-2.8= $11.2

Thus ,
Lowest possible price = $11.2

20*7/10*8/10=56/5=11.2

To answer this question simply maximize the discount

x(.7)(.8)- this a a product discounted by thirty percent and then 20 percent
20(.7)(.8) = 11.2

Since the suggested retail price is 20 dollars, the lowest price for which the store sells the food is:

20(0.7)(0.8) = $11.20.

Answer: B
